1st September 2022 Larsen 0 Chris 1.

Thursday 1st 46F, bright but with plenty of cloud. Up at 6.15 after quite a reasonable night's sleep.70F indoors at bedtime. So I put on the summer duvet. Going for an early walk. I have to meet up early for the cooking classes. Which means I have to discover a whole new Danish vocabulary. Just as I do with every new subject matter.

You are lucky to be reading this. A huge, articulated lorry overshot a corner as I approached on foot. It was clearly travelling far too fast and ran onto the verge. Right in front of me! A couple of seconds or 10m separated me from certain death. Larsen, the crash test dummy behind the wheel, just shrugged and drove on. Leaving me to walk on. Contemplating the meaning of life. Or, lack thereof. In his deep tire tracks on the verge.

14.00 Safely home after a long morning at the cooking class. I was the new boy in a well established group of nine elderly men. Separated into three smaller groups. Fortunately they took pity on me and it went very well. By sheer coincidence they made the same meal as I did last night. Only they started from scratch with raw ingredients. While mine came in pre-packs and tins. The group then eats the food made that day. They will even have me back next time. Fortnightly classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So, I am now socialising on steroids. 😊

I'll have a nap first and then I am going shopping. Only a short ride into the village. Or, I go by car and bring back some more compost. The latter.
