3.03.2022 Start queuing now!

 Thursday 3rd 32-43F, a thin hoar frost from overnight mist. A bright start but light grey. Sunshine promised for after lunch. My replacement boots are out for delivery. And have just arrived. I am off-road, mobile again! 

 Only the slightest discomfort from the new boots. Mostly around the ankle bones. I shall loosen the laces slightly until the boots are broken in. My usual, 40 minute walk was completed in 30 minutes. Slush from the hoar frost was falling from the overhanging, roadside trees. Lots of small birds about again. A long, sunny day once the mist had lifted.

The [mostly unwanted] contents the bike shed. Accumulated over decades. Dozens of seat pins, gear changers, levers, handlebars, sprockets, gear cassettes, saddles, chain rings and crank sets and cranks, bottom brackets, brakes & random brackets and fittings. Campag Chorus and others, assorted Shimano, TA. Brooks Cambium & Professional. 

 What to do with it all? It would be a great shame to just dump it in the recycling yard as scrap! Would anybody be willing to take it away for a modest sum? eBay[UK] is too far away and totally føcked by Brexit.

2.03.2022 Replacement boots at last.

Wednesday 2nd 34F, thick mist. Almost no wind for my walk today.

I have finally heard from the Danish dealer for Scarpa. They are sending me another pair of walking boots to replace the leaking pair. I could have done with them over the winter. It has taken since November to get a replacement.

 Tuesday 1st 34F. A dramatic start to the day with bright red then orange clouds against a clear north eastern sky. It will be cloudy today. A sign of sunshine early on but it soon vanished. A bitterly cold easterly wind spoilt the middle section of my walk. Lots of small birds in the roadside trees. First sound of Greenfinch song this year. Skylarks singing too.
