Thursday 28th 52F, overcast and very dark. Some sun is threatened for later. After several days, at the "Guaranteed" speed, Waoo Internet is down to half the "Guaranteed" speed. It makes a change from countless months of 1/3 the "Guaranteed" speed.
A near two hour walk to the far woods. I was hoping to capture the autumn colours.
Another record: Warmest October night at 11.5C minimum nationally in Denmark, since records began 148 years go. Only last month was another record warm night set for September.
Now both China and India are opting out of cutting CO2 from coal in the short term.
So, here's an idea: If any country won't cut back on CO2 then ALL their exported products should attract a Carbon Tax at point of sale outside their borders.
VAT, or its equivalent, is already foisted onto every sale in Europe. So adding a Carbon tax, based on country of origin, shouldn't be too hard to do. Nations can be lumped into Carbon Bands. Make it a two way process. Charge defaulting nations a Carbon Tax on all sales to them. Remember to add the Carbon Tax to weapons and so-called "defense" sales too.
Renewable Energy sources [Wind and Solar] are now much cheaper than coal and gas. So there is no excuse for continuing with these dirty sources. Except for the lack of investment in the changeover. Huge savings are possible with Renewables in the long term. Not to mention improved air quality.
