Wednesday 26th 36F/2C Grey morning, possible sunshine this afternoon and a hard frost tonight. 64F/17.8C in the room. 49F/9.4C in the greenhouse.
Up at 6.50 after an unusually quiet night.
A belated visit to my friend. Delayed by recalcitrant snow.
13.00 Back from my visit. It was mist and a blinding low sun on the way. Brighter and clear on the way back. Until I neared home and it became thick mist again. The promised sunshine has been cancelled. There was a lot of flooding on the fields. As the rain had cause a rapid thaw of the snow.
I drove to Assens to do some shopping in the late afternoon. It became increasingly misty. Though in patches. The last leg home on the dark was at 30kph/20mph. Even on extremely familiar roads and lanes it was very difficult to see where I was going.
I now have some battens and draught strip. For the front hall door out to the greenhouse. These double doors were recycled but the frames were undersized. Leaving visible gaps along the top.
Dinner was an omelette. Sausage and tomatoes.
