Thursday 13th 47F/8.3C. A grey and windy day is promised. 12C/53F & 15m/s peaks. SW wind.
Up at 6.10 after a quiet night.
9.20 Back from a longer walk. About 5km according to a tracking app on my phone. 7000 steps. Down the road. Up the main track to the forest. Explore possible escape routes in the forest. Too many brambles. Much has changed since my last visit. There used to be a loop. Heading back to higher ground.
I cut down through a steep firebreak. Across the marshy saddle and then skirted the prairie past the lake. Not a single duck in sight. When there were once countless hundreds. About an hour and 20 minutes of quite heavy going. Distinctly soggy in places. A low, blinding sun on the last leg along the busy road. I am quite warm but a little tired now.
A message came from the hospital following my recent ultrasound scan. Since there was no change over the last year. It is decided not to scan again for another three years. I'll be 81½! 😳
Dinner was toast. Cheese on toast with halved sub-micro tomatoes. I think they were "Quantums." I didn't dare read the label. In case they disappeared.
