Sunday 24th 51-58F, overcast and expected to remain that way. Though I saw my own shadow briefly on my walk to the lanes. My winter, walking coat provided the necessary warmth. Traffic light, with long pauses between vehicles.

Denmark's plans to have its citizens sort refuse into 10 types, for improved recycling, has received a bit of a knock. It will cost at least 10 times the calculated sum per year. Instead of a modest 55 Danish Kroner [about £6] per year it will cost at least 500DKK or £60.

I hope they call it off. It is hard enough dragging the present two wheely bins the 100 yards along the drive. To reach the nearest point where the binmen will [sometimes] deign to empty them. When they feel like it, of course and can't find a reason to leave it all behind. With a decorative card hooked on the handle to point out assorted crimes against recycling. Give a little man a little power and they become all "entitled."
