Sunday 17th 51F, overcast and breezy. A walk up to the woods and back down by the Western Ridge Direct Descent Route. It remained overcast but provided rather even and moody lighting for my 72 images.The sun has come out now I sit here typing. Having replenished my energy reserves with coffee and marmalade on toast. Still no wholegrain rolls!
A pair of vast tractors were resting between harvesting trees and chewing them into bits in a giant pencil sharpener. [Technical terms.] The vehicles were marked as Bio Energy. Presumably the coarse sawdust has sufficient value to pay back the huge investment in machinery, salaries and transport costs. Don't be fooled by my poor photographs. The wheels on the tractors were far taller than I am!
