21-04-2020 Day 40 in self isolation..

~~

Tuesday 21st 41-61F, clear blue skies and bright sunshine. A short walk to the lanes and back. Lots of birds in the hedgerows or singing in the trees. I saw a Siskin and a Yellowhammer within a few yards. With at least three robins singing around the garden. Quite a gusty, easterly breeze but not cold.

The farmer has been planting yellow flowers in his fields. Which is nice. Not quite fully open but you get the picture.

Another long, sunny day spent at home. There is still no rain in the forecast. Rainfall is already very low this year despite a very wet spring. It could be another drought in the making. Like 2018 here in Denmark. From one extreme to the other.

In one of those bizarre moments The Head Gardener decided to wash her entire stock of old, winter socks. These were ceremoniously hoisted, like small flags, onto the rungs of a tall stepladder. As if to celebrate our 40 days of virtual confinement. I suppose everybody needs a hobby in these trying times. Mine was eating birthday chocolates to extinction. This is becoming a bit of a habit. I'm 73 you know! 👶
