11.04.2020 Day 30 of self isolation.

~~~
Saturday 11th 32-44F, white, overnight frost but warming. Bright but overcast. Expected to remain cloudy all day.
The sun was visible but veiled as I walked to the lanes. Traffic intermittent but not absent. Chaffinches filled the air with their rather repetitive song. Goldfinches brightened my day. Interesting wave clouds but were too soft and fluffy to register properly.
The field flooding has dried to cracked mud, from 3' of water, only a fortnight ago. There was a story in the news about the damage and losses to farmers. Two years ago was a record drought. This year was record wet. Despite a dead calm and the wind turbines all standing still, it was slightly chilly on my bare hands at 42F. There was a lot of hedge trimming today.
Sunday 12th Day 31. 46F, bright start with sunny periods promised. A walk to the familiar lanes. A pleasant day of mostly sunshine and very light winds. There is still a lot of hedge trimming going on! The Head Gardener is tireless in cutting back overgrown hedges. Monumental efforts which would have me put on a caution for "overenthusiastic hacking."  It's no fun being a Junior Under Gardener under such tyranny! 😒 There's no room for a nice bit of creativity! 😉
