Monday 31st 60F [7.30am] 72F [13.45] Bright sunshine from a clear blue sky. Waoo fiber Internet is finally giving me the service I pay for. Not 1/3 of the service.No walk today. Hobbies intervened. Maybe later.

Since my wife, Shirley, died suddenly of cancer two years ago I have been struggling uphill. My cycling blog became a therapeutic journal. Where I recorded my recovery from the shock of my loss. The house and garden needed a lot of work. So, much of the text and images were about my "improvements" and re-socialization. My purchase of an e-bike has transformed my cycling after I passed 75. More recently I have had health problems. Hopefully I have survived to tell the tale.

Sunday 30th 52-69!F, thick mist. It is supposed to be all day sunshine with UV warnings. Waoo fibre Internet at 80Mbps instead of the guaranteed 200Mbps.The sun broke through at 9am as I pottered along the road towards the lanes. With the first glimpse of the sun the mist lifted into the clouds.
I snapped away at innocent wild flowers in the absence of larger prey for my camera. Everything was covered in dew. The roads were wet under the trees.
It has reached 70F at 14.00.

Saturday 29th 48F, heavy overcast, light northerly breeze. All day sunshine promised after the grey start. Waoo Internet is at 78Mbps instead of the "guaranteed" 200Mbps. It's getting slower. I have a bad taste in my mouth when I cough. Perhaps a ride will help to clear the sawdust.My knee was feeling better today. So I walked up to the woods. Where I did a tour up through the beeches and then back down by the side of the prairie. Where it was a bit muddy but passable without damaging the crops.
The image is of a distant Skylark in Superman, hover pose. I had to crop it from a dot for it to become identifiable. Which made it look very fuzzy. I thought it was funny because it was staring straight at the camera. Swallows everywhere today.
I had a brisk, late morning ride around the lanes for half an hour. Going well and feel better for a ride in the gorgeous, spring countryside. I was supposed to get breathless but didn't, despite the hills. I feel lost without my rear view mirror. It was worn out so I took it off. Then discovered that Zefal had discontinued the Cyclop. Now I discover it is still stocked at most online dealers. Order duly placed.
It felt weird and unsafe not being able to see what was coming up from behind. Particularly now that my hearing is so badly impaired. The Zefal mirror is flat for full size reflections. It has the perfect shape to get maximum field of view when placed on the dropped [racing] handlebar ends. The internally chromed plastic is unbreakable but only lasts for a couple of years on a trike. Unfortunately, it sits directly in the road spray thrown up from the back tyre. Which means it gets shot blasted whenever the roads are wet.

Friday 28th 53F, sunny periods and showers promised. A little warmer than of late. Waoo Internet at 80Mbps instead of the "guaranteed" 200Mbps.A walk to the lanes in sunshine. Warblers everywhere. Heard them but couldn't see them. A distant Whitethroat was too soft once enlarged. You'll have to make do with a fuzzy blackbird. Which was difficult to miss even at 100 yards.

Thursday 27th 50F, bright with some blue sky and cloud. Two very opposing forecasts from the usual culprits. Waoo internet is still at only 83Mbps instead of the advertised, "guaranteed" 200Mbps.The crops had only been damaged by the heavy rain and wind one field. Most others have used stalk dwarfism to make the crops more robust. [Straw shortener.]

The world is expected to reach 1.5C over pre-industrial levels within the next four years. So that's alright then. The politicooze can keep taking our money as "our" world sinks beneath the waves.
I see Biden has been reading my blog again. He has instigated another examination of lifetime, genocidal dictator, Sly "Plague" Jinping's role. In covering up the Wuhan germ warfare leakage. Flat denial and then trying to blame US labs? Despite countless cases of sloppy security at Chinese labs. Then putting the expert investigation team in isolation. To give Jinping's thugs a chance to clean up the lab and eradicate any potential [unwanted] witnesses. If it smells like a rat.. then it must be "Plague" Jinping's personal intervention.

Wednesday 26th 46F, heavy overcast, windy with constant, heavy rain. The commercial TV station TV2 is offering all day sunshine. The DMI is promising all day rain. One of these forecasters is unfit for purpose. Waoo Internet at 85Mbps today instead of the advertising "guaranteed" 200Mbps.
Take one obsessive morning walker and add water. Stir well and then pour into charity shop, waterproof jacket. My best winter jacket was still drying having been denied any extra warmth since yesterday's soaking. We have run out of furniture to burn.
It tipped down for the full, three quarters of an hour duration of my ultramarathon to the lanes. My hands were wet and cold from the start despite being draw up into the jacket cuffs. It was raining so hard that water was running across the road and down the inclines.
A number of drivers made no real effort to distance themselves from this particular, wet tramp. That would have involved a twitch of the steering wheel and temporary engagement of what passes for a consumer addled brain. Though the bus driver grinned and waved when I took to the verge. To let him pass unhindered against oncoming traffic. 😇
On my return the Coastline "Nautical Equipment" jacket was dark all over from ultra-saturated wetness. Inside was shiny wet all over from the same external source. Not that I noticed any internal wetness other than my hands. It was only a matter of time.
My Patagonia trousers were shiny wet inside from the knees down. There was absolutely no beading of the rainwater on the outside as there [probably] should be. These trousers have hardly had any use but already need reproofing? It's no wonder nobody has any stock.
My "baseball cap" was saturated despite having been under the jacket hood. Meanwhile, my Scarpa boots were still perfectly dry on the outside and inside. Probably thanks to a recent spray of Nikwax reproofing.
Would a £500 Gore-Tex jacket and trouser set have faired any better? Opinions vary widely. Beware online reviews and Best Buys in particular. Some online crooks are easily bought and have absolutely no conscience provided the money keeps flowing.. They call them "influencers." Bribing <cough> celebrity <cough> reviewers is now a trillion dollar, global industry. Remember that some influencers are pushing cures for the Jinping Plague. Do you trust their opinions? Then seek professional help.

Guess what? Wuhan's germ warfare factory was being subsidised by US FIM. Funding to research potential biological weapons from bats? Three Wuhan workers were in hospital with Covid symptoms as early as November 2019. Remember the WHO refusing to call Jinping Plague a pandemic for many, critical months? Thereby spreading serious doubt about the impending human and economic disaster.
A bruised and battered, Jinping©™spokesperson staggered onto Jinping©™ TV to deny all claims of responsibility. Amused foreign observers noted that the spokesperson was wearing standard issue, concrete Wellington's. Which were clearly marked with Jinping's©™ symbols. While simultaneously he had large, Jinping©™ electrodes dangling from his shorts.
Did you know that 350 European companies have economic ties with White Russia? Including "household names." Are they employing cheap labour under Looto's dickpotatoship. Or even forced, slave labour? Will this seriously affect the efficacy of EU sanctions? Why is anyone still propping up this evil clown? He is clearly suffering from advanced paranoia in blaming the rest of the world for his insanity.
A fire at Tesla's German gigafactory building site may have been set. Online discussion suggests extremists do not believe Tesla is [remotely] green enough. I'm wondering how long it would take to pay off the CO2 from all that concrete? Plus all the CO2 from car manufacture, transport and mining the raw materials. Tesla probably deserves a break for disrupting the utterly corrupt, utterly contemptible, filthy vehicle manufacturers.
Shell has been told to cut its CO2 manufacture by 45% by 2030 by a Dutch court.
The vast majority of Denmark's CO2 production is by foreign owned companies.
Well over a thousand Danes die every year from polluted air. The latest suggestion is that some city councils could ban diesels or even petrol driven cars.
Boris "The Clown" Johnson, who is the pretend prime minister of less than 50% of the remaining population of England, has been accused, by a former close advisor, of calling the Jinping Plague a sick joke. Thereby causing the unnecessary deaths of tens of thousands of Brits. By personally delaying action to contain the plague. Which other, well known clowns do we know who behaved like that? Will any of them face charges of culpable genocide? Would they get away with a Münchhausen's defence?

Tuesday 25th 51F, heavy overcast, possible rain. Waoo Fibre Internet has now dropped to 81Mbps instead of the "guaranteed" 200Mbps.
I was determined to go for a walk despite the steadily falling rain. It soon became obvious that I couldn't walk along the edge of the road. Because every passing vehicle was giving me a free car wash. Then it rained much more heavily!
My winter coat badly needs re-proofing. So I returned home to dry out. Though I was perfectly warm and dry on the inside, the outside was dark with wetness. Second wettest May in 100 years with several days to go. I have ordered the coat manufacturer's recommended wash and proofer. [Storm.]
Remember: Darwin Awards aren't just given away to any Donny, Dick or Marjorie. They are well earned.

Monday 24th 54F, bright overcast and windy again. Time to risk a limp through that flying tree blossom. 83/200Mbps on T'internet this morning. A walk to the lanes in a cool breeze. Almost no traffic today. I looked back towards home and a Red kite was circling over Chez Hovel.
Just when you thought that air travel was <cough> taking off [sic] again. Another of those loony despots has introduced the random destination factor into the mix. From now on no Rain-air flights can be trusted to get you to your sandy towel. To wallow amongst the identikit, beached and sunburnt, elephant seals. You could end up anywhere! Whenever some minor despot decides he needs a free "personal" delivery from Bozo or O'leery.
A few minor country's politicooze are moaning into their tax-free, subsidised breakfasts. While waiting for their speech writers to tell them what to think. About another failure to win the Eurovision Coke Snorting Contest for bearded ladies.
Sanctions won't have any effect, of course. Despots don't pay taxes or fines to the EU or the Dsa. [Divided states of america] The usual backhanders will ensure that a few Ex-soviet, rust belt, politicooze slime abstain.
So, as usual, nothing will get done. It's no use banning flights to White Russia. Nobody goes there except Pootin. He doesn't care about anything. Except his bank balance and getting his shirt off. To tempt the next generation of Russian schoolboys into a forbidden fling on horseback. Through the crashing, Baltic waves.
In today's Danish news: Notwithstanding that foreign property investors own most of the desirable Danish homes in the cities: The government is now to subsidise property investors in rural homes. I just hope the investors can actually read the "For Sale" signs. Most of these signs are bleached to illegibility after a decade of being "on The Market."
Forced auctions, where properties sell for small change, are the only property market around here. Having found a property, it might require a lumberjack and a team of seasoned explorers, with machetes, just to reach the front door! 😏 Now there's an idea! Hollywood could do their latest [copycat] zombie or dystopian blockbusters in these No Man's Land, rural Danish properties. Cheaper than going all the way to Chernobyl. But with a much greater risk of meeting a real mutant. 😱

Sunday 23rd 47F, dark grey and very windy. 30-35mph gales all day. One official forecasting team offers all day sunshine. The other offers all day grey. Guess who won the toss-up? Rain on the air as I limped to the lanes. One small bird of prey was travelling so fast, with the wind, that it had crossed the 1000m prairie before its brakes started working. I kept my hood up. To keep the flying tree blossom out of my eyes!

Using a twin-pronged attack the Danes have finally cracked the habitual speeding of its motoring citizens. Finding any Dane driving at the legal speed limit remains extremely elusive. The "Guinness Book of World Records" has had secret observers in every Danish city, for years. Even they have yet to officially confirm a single sighting of any Dane driving at under the speed limit.
First, the Danish government introduced the "Insane Danish driver" law. Which set such simple rules that even junior petrol heads and BMW/Audi owners could understand them:
Drive at twice the local speed limit? Lose your car. Drive at over 200kph? Lose your car. Drink drive after three litres of snaps? Lose your car. Drive while overdosing on three kinds of illegal drugs? Lose your car. Drive the wrong way down the motorway, three times in a week [or more?] Lose your car!
This new law quickly got the attention of many Danish drivers. So much so, that only 54,000 108,000 cars have been confiscated from "Insane Danish drivers" in the very first month alone! I suppose it is one way of getting more electric cars on the Danish roads. Even if some cynics might argue that drastically reducing the overall number of vehicles is "massaging the statistics." Thanks to decades of skewed import taxes, against electric cars, Denmark has very few electric vehicles. Probably less than many a tiny Pacific island. Or South American mega-slum.
The second prong of the attack against "Insane Danish drivers" was the introduction of compulsory refuse sorting into multiple containers [a.k.a.bins.] To be carried out by the unpaid [and heavily taxed] Danish public.
Note that refuse bins are habitually left on the pavements and verges in Denmark. This is to ensure the bins are always accessible to the private "refuse collection" companies. Which, by default, collect the refuse at completely random times.
As a side note: "Refusal of refuse" is already a critical, social problem in Denmark. The Bin Men hold such power, that they can refuse to collect from an entire tower block. All it takes is for an innocent passer-by to drop a sweet wrapper into the wrong bin! The Bin Men even have huge, printed cards [with hooks] to attach to the wheely bin handles. These cards are intended to "shame" the Danish public for failure to sort their refuse 110% correctly. Second offences can often lead to long jail terms without parole.
By introducing more and more bins. For sorting the refuse into specific types. The Danish pavements and verges are now completely overflowing with wheely bins!
See the image alongside for an example of a single, Danish householder discussing her "bin problem." She is seen standing outside her typical, Danish home. Nineteen refuse bins for sorting ten kinds of refuse? Something doesn't add up here! Image attributed to TV2 "Lorry" and used for educational purposes only. Here's the video: Danish language.
Ny affaldssortering chokerer i Nordsjælland: "Jeg troede, det var en fejl" | TV 2 Lorry
99.9% of Danish city pedestrians are now having to walk on the roads. [Rural Danes never walk anywhere.] All Danes know, from long experience, never to walk on the cycle lanes. There are far too many, illegally tuned scooters holding massive, drag race meetings on those!
Which means there is nowhere else to walk except on the roads. The pavements have quickly become completely blocked by refuse bins throughout the land. Whether in town and city, village, hamlet or meandering, rural lane.
Just to make life "more interesting" the privately owned, refuse collection lorries have only two containers. So, as soon a bulky type of refuse has filled one container, the lorry must return to base or their privately owned, recycling centres.
Do not be too quick to assume that these bins are colour coded. To help the long-suffering Danes remember which bin to to use? No, that would be just silly. This is Denmark after all. No pure-bred Dane has independently invented a coloured, refuse bin. At least, not yet. The Danes do not habitually recognise other nation's patents or educational qualifications.
So immigrant surgeons and other specialists must push brooms around [foreign owned] superstores. Or work as manual pickers at recycling centres. That's if they can get any kind of work at all. Due to a colossal irony the Danes use the word "sort" for the English word "black." So any immigrant automatically becomes: "En af de sorte." [plural] or: "One of the blacks. Or, "the black sort? Black sorter? Skin colour has nothing to do with it.
All the new refuse bins are identical in colour. So-called, "Danish Black©" Much as the Swedes have registered their Swedish Red© . So all Swedish houses must be painted in that colour.
Well, Danish Black© is the default colour for Danish roofs, Danish kitchens, Danish bathroom and kitchen tiles, Danish designer furnishings, Danish garden ornaments and outdoor furniture, Danish carports and garages, Danish concrete slabs in private drives, Danish kitchen utensils and cutting boards, Danish floors, Danish electrical goods, Danish iPhones, Danish barbecues, Danish carpets, Danish table place mats, Danish summer houses, Danish ironwork, Danish stairs, Danish lamp shades, Danish mail boxes, etc.etc.
Don't believe me? IKEA saves an absolute fortune by printing their online and paper catalogues only in B&W for their Danish mega-outlets. Where, quite naturally, the Danish shopping trolleys and baskets are also Black©. Just as, Black©, is the Danish "designer" asphalt in their vast, out of town, car parks.
BTW: Danish Black© mail/post boxes were already required by law to be placed on the pavement outside private homes and business addresses. This is so the post vans can drive along the pavements. With two wheels on and two wheels off. With the driver's window wound down, to speed up deliveries.
You can probably see where this story is going. I'd better have a walk al[on]g the road before I get into any more trouble with the Danish refuse "thought police!" It is said that more Danes now work [from home] for the RASP [Refuse Administration Sorting Police.] Than are/were employed by the KGB and Stasi combined! I kid you not! 😉

Saturday 22nd 51F, heavy overcast and windy. Another rainy day in prospect. It has stayed dry but windy so far at 09.30 A walk to the lanes. Warblers at intervals along the way. Quite chilly on my hands today due to the wind.
It seemed to rain for the rest of the day. Today's picture is of Garlic mustard. Similar to White dead nettle.
A Danish news story discusses growing public demand for taxation on house sale profits. With record increases in prices, property investors are making tax free billions.
Any idea of taxing these effortless "windfalls" was quickly quashed by the Danish, right wing politicooze. Anything which slowed the redistribution of wealth. From the countless Danish poor to the far fewer, filthy rich. Would set an ugly precedent.
It might not even be allowed under "Standard Reverse Robin Hood Policy," EU law. Taxation is strictly for the poor, working classes and small businesses. Nobody "important" pays any taxes. Otherwise they'd just go elsewhere.
Without inflated profits, <cough> property investors would no longer buy up all the desirable properties in every Danish [European and global] city. Who would do all their money laundering for them? Now the Danish bank affiliates have been warned off with massive negative publicity.

Friday 21st 50F, heavy overcast and raining steadily and purposefully. Internet back down to 85Mbps.
It stayed dry for my walk to the lanes under a leaden sky. My hands chilled by the damp wind. The pale, Marsh harrier circled over a roadside field. Wings taught and gently upturned for effortless lift.
The two, stone age, tribes have stopped their habitual lobbing of rocks into each other's overcrowded territories. At least for the moment. How many more millennia will it take to win the argument?
This sort of thing always reminds me of male pheasants having a scrap on a busy main road. Totally oblivious to the dangers around them. Their silly plumage flashes gaudily in the sunlight. An easy target for any bloodthirsty potshot or pothead driver. Male dominance over another for the right to breed. As if there was any shortage of breeders, or offspring.
It's always about appearances. The abused, school yard bully. With all his warped cronies against the rest of the world. Never any winners. Same old, same old enemies. Same old, same old, willing victims. Brain washed at the breast. To measure themselves in the light other's imagined perceptions. Rather than what they might have achieved. Given an open mind and cooperative optimism. Peel back the corruption and how do your leaders match up against the pretend battle which keeps them in power?
Borders and territory are imaginary concepts. Built invisibly on old wives' tales, fables and endlessly repeated legend. You can't see the countless conscript's blood from the air. If racism could be monetised, then the worthless, walking trash would all be billionaires. Perhaps they are?
Ask your pathetic leaders not what they hate about your neighbours. Ask them, instead, how they can forgive themselves. For using ancient history as a false crutch. To gaining their tinpot power over your weak, tribal minds.
Fear is the cheapest vote catcher out there. Just look how many abuse and abused the concept. To effortlessly join the game of musical chairs on their endless, gravy train. They live in their palaces with their wily speech writers. While you continue to suffer and serve their will against "the foe."
Without "the struggle" they are powerless to rule a public urinal. Without "the struggle" they could build schools and hospitals and care for the old. Instead of manufacturing crippling and irrecuperable, national debts to filthy rich weapons dealers. Whose generous backhanders always ensure your leaders live the high life. To which, they alone, are royally accustomed.

Thursday 20th 52F, bright start and calm. Fast moving clouds, from the west again, as the wind picks up. 8.0am and it is already overcast! The trend continued. With heavy cloud one moment and ragged blue holes letting through the sunlight.Warblers and a robin entertained me again this morning. A Goldfinch has been singing sweetly from a tall, slender, red oak in the garden for days now.
One DS [Divided States of America] pipeline pays $4 million to get back control from Russian [?] hackers. While a Russian pipeline has DS sanctions dropped. The pipeline is run by one of Pootin's best buddies from within the former communist intelligence thuggery. Welcome to Biden's murky world of "reducing fossil fuel abuse to save the planet."
Fascist cult leader Dump's Brownshirts have broken ranks. To allow an inquiry into Dump's fascist footsoldier invasion. It won't get past congress though. Because the higher ranking Brownshirts are against inquiries into Dump's armed invasions of their debating chamber. Dump's hit men are already polishing their assault rifles in anticipation of taking out their disloyal cult members. Dump has already "painted the targets" for his fascist, white trash drones. To auto-comply on his signal.

Wednesday 19th 53-56-51F, bright, sunny, slightly cloudy start. The clouds are travelling across quite quickly from the west. Internet at 210Mbps early on but had dropped back to the all too familiar 83Mbps by lunch time.Today I walked east and down the map. Just for a change. The prairie of oil seed rape was in spectacular flower. Which needed recording. The dark sky behind the ridge and the untidy foreground provided extra interest.
Warblers were everywhere this morning. I almost caught a picture of one but it was too quick for me. Cooler on the way back into the wind. The cloud was highly variable and its fleeing shadows refused to be still enough for my landscape photography.
After a mostly cloudy morning it rained at 12.30 as the temperature dropped to 51F. There were showers and sunny periods for the rest of the day. The Internet remained at 83Mbps.
~~
~~
Tuesday 18th 51F, bright overcast and calm. Internet back up to 210Mbps.It turned cooler and darker for my walk. No sign of the promised sunshine. Lots of warblers in the hedgerows. Not much else to report. Traffic normal. The oil seed rape is getting deeper, softer and stronger in colour. Most of the trees in leaf now, but not all.
There are growing rumours in the news that Sly "Plague" Jinping's Wuhan, germ warfare lab was exercising itself with bats. This was just before the Pandemic of genocidal dictator Jinping's, very own name.
Chinese labs were well known for leaks. Why would Wuhan be any different? Better ask dictator Jinping. Nothing happens without his personal permission. It explains the difficulty the experts had in getting anywhere near the Wuhan labs. Remember the utterly transparent, compulsory two week isolation of the team? While the Chinese worked round the clock cleaning up the lab and "cleaning up" any living witnesses.
The latest idiocy on fixing climate warming relies on growing oil plants for making diesel. Leaving the door wide open. For the crooks to level the Brazilian Rain Forest to grow crops.

Monday 17th 48F, heavy overcast. Some sunshine promised depending on your tribal loyalties to the habitual seaweed fondlers.
Another grey walk to the lanes. Punctuated by different warblers at intervals along the way. Clockwork Starlings are suddenly a busy part of the landscape. Goldfinches in number too. Foraging for seeds on the overgrown weeds on the scruffier corners of what are loosely described as "gardens." Nothing has value until somebody else wants it. Or you try to trespass.
The fibre internet is unstable this morning. DOA on startup. Restarted W10 and then the fibre box when the default plaster didn't work. Followed by variable speed, topping out at 83Mbps. ISP still "guaranteeing" their minimum speed of 200Mbps. With never a breath of system "issues" on their sales and bragging website. Still 83Mbps after morning coffee.
Every day I go to the virtual supermarket to buy a 200g bag of flour. It is always only 1/3 full at the checkout. There is never more than 85g of flour. So I complain repeatedly to the staff. They always say; "But it's guaranteed to be full on our website! So it can't possibly be only 1/3 full! You'll have to pay for the full bag!"
Does not compute. 🤪

~~
Sunday 16th 50-59F, overcast. Showers and rain promised. Possible thundery cloudbursts later.
A walk to the lanes and beyond. As the overcast broke up to cloud and patches of blue. Warblers performed in the hedgerows as skylarks sang down from the wings. Above them all, a Red kite circled as it steadily gained height. Drifting slowly over the landscape from its god-like position in the hierarchy. Glimpses of watery sunshine soon led to this Twirly becoming Twarm. Off came the jacket as I plodded homewards against the Sunday traffic.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yet another moral hurdle has been raised against genocidal dictator, Sly "Plague" Jinping's use of forced labour. Not the usual profiteering, party members. Making billions from producing Western "labels" with what is undisguised, modern slavery. This time it is the use of forced labour to make solar panels or their vital constituents. The communist slavers have grabbed a disproportionately large chunk of the global, solar panel market.
The country aiming most criticism at this evil policy is the DSA. [Divided States of America] The world's self proclaimed "Boy Scout."" God's Own Country:" Built on genocide, land theft, resource theft, species eradication, slavery and germ warfare. Continuing the slavery right up to the present day. Bozo, McSlobs, et al. Minimum wages for long hours. Often in appalling or dangerous working conditions. Lower than incomes from morning paper rounds which would be sneered at elsewhere.
Exactly the same can be said, of course, for many other, wealthy, Western nations. Their empires were nothing short of armed, economic invasions. Followed by the familiar shortcuts to instant wealth, for the few. If you don't have to pay for anything then how can you possibly lose? Incompetence?
The chateaus, stately homes, castles and sprawling estates were mostly built on slavery. Of one sort or another. Or all of them. Human bloodshed, tortured flesh and broken bones. Leading to the snobbery of Old Money and centuries of blood-drenched, aristocracy and royalty. Still wielding their corrupt power over the "lower orders" to this very day. Often operating outside the law. Which they, themselves, corruptly contrived to pass "for the greater good."
Saturday 15th 46-48F, heavy overcast but calm start. Internet at 83Mbps instead of the "guaranteed" 200Mbps.
There are more swallows around now but not in large numbers. The garden trees and hedges are proving popular with the songbirds.
My knee was no longer painful today. So I extended my walk to nearly two hours. Down to the village and up the puddled track to the woods. Where I clambered up the wet and muddy, forest tracks. I spotted two different Marsh harriers on the approach. Circling over the fields as they searched for breakfast.
There had been a lot of tree harvesting since my last visit. The once scruffy, forest clearance on the summit had been cleared and smoothed. New fire breaks had been made to aid tree removal from a nursery of younger trees. Huge mounds of wood chippings lay near the main track. Ready for easy access by a lorry with a crane and grab. I disturbed a flock of Red deer in the forest. At least a dozen dashed off completely silently.I plodded back down the long descent to civilisation. Scuffing through long, wet grass and countless wild plants, in flower. As I tried to clean the forest mud off my boots. An escaping hare followed the curving crop tracks as if on rails.
The right wing sociopaths increasingly vociferous in their demands. For an end to the [quote] "unnecessary" closures. Desperate to hide their corruption and total indifference to death and suffering. With yet more, empty headlines. Keep taking our money! Their greed wins, but not our votes. We are wise to you now.
Friday 14th 50-55F, overcast, calm, distant mist and damp. The all day rain seems to have been cancelled. We were woken at 4am by several, very loud claps of thunder. Our "guaranteed" 200Mbps fibre Internet is running at 75Mbps this morning. Should I "guarantee" to pay only 1/3 of my monthly bill?The air was so damp that it felt as if there was rain falling. The fields had standing water from the overnight drenching. I saw and heard a warbler in the hedgerow. It was already gone by the time I had woken my old TZ7 camera.
Fortunately this wild plant stayed still long enough for a snap. It was even kind enough to pose for me. My White Dead nettle identification was later confirmed by The Head Gardener. [Lamium maculatum.]
Did you see the crude bit of talentless graffiti which sold for a record $90 million at auction? I hear Bozo, the modern slave driver and sociopath is buying a yacht for $400 million. There's plenty of money around for the "necessities" isn't there? It reminds me of the mill owners in Victorian times. Callous, pompous asses. Building vast, stately homes. While their workers slaved and suffered appallingly in hideous slums. The genocidal, Chinese dictatorship, under Sly "Plague" Jinping, favours billionaires having slave labour. That'll be what they call "communism" isn't it?
Thursday 13th 51F, hardly a breeze, heavy overcast and slightly misty. My knee is improving.The mist made it impossible to obtain any clear pictures while adding nothing to the composition.
Today's picture was taken in the early evening and has been heavily processed. Three, heaped, tablespoons of gamma, several big dollops of contrast and the sky was no longer dark grey. 400mm [MFT] + internal 1.4x Teleconverter and 2x digital zoom handheld and cropped. Then the Goldfinch took ages to pose.
Today's mystery bird of prey rose from a distant field hedge and retreated. It was almost all white above with only a little buff. Black wing tips were reminiscent of a harrier or kite. Tail medium long without a fork. Marsh harrier in late winter garb? It was too far away, even in the binoculars, for greater clarity.
A lady stopped her van in the lane to ask about my perambulations. Her curiosity had arisen due to frequent sightings of this ambling septuagenarian. She had noticed me sporting my cameras or binoculars and had correctly assumed I was a wildlife enthusiast.
There is a stretch of the main road which was planted with mixed, native trees some years ago. It is slightly set back from the road. Though not by much. So that it cannot be reached by the flails of the tractor, hedge slasher. The tallest tree specimens have now reached well over 7nm or 20'. With lots of bushy infill down below. Blossom and leaf are presently bursting forth in spring abandon.
The smaller birds absolutely love it! I have never heard so much, varied birdsong anywhere before. Warblers, finches, tits and blackbirds all clamour for attention. In the all too brief silences between the traffic, tyre roar. Yet the established, taller, but much more slender, double slashed, roadside, field trees hardly provide a perch for anything but a chaffinch or timid blackbird. It could be the greater depth of the planted trees which is so attractive to the birds. Being backed by one of the few uncultivated fields where only long grass is grown. Largely uncut except for an annual clip. Not even an animal grazing there over the years.
Fascist cult leader, Dunny 'da' Dump, delayed the updates to his private, Brownshirt's environmental <cough> protection <cough> agency reports for four years. The EPA [Exclusive Pussy Elite] sat on its updates as the world's climate, literally fell apart at the seams. The cost to the US alone running in the tens to hundreds of billions. Drought, uncontrollable wildfires, larger and more ferocious storms all took lives, homes and their economic toll. That'll be another hoax along with his repeated denial of a pandemic.
The EPA is only now accepting that humans "may" have some "slight" effect on the badly broken climate. It is understood that EPA executives continued to [corruptly] accept their monthly salaries [a.k.a. Non Disclosure bribes] throughout this entire, devastating period.
No doubt we will soon be reading about these same corrupt EPA executives accepting massive pay-offs. As they crawl off into comfortable, early retirement in their sprawling, air conditioned mansions. To wallow in lifelong passes to Dump's putting infant courses and to ride around in chauffeur driven, luxury cars at taxpayer's expense.
Wednesday 12th 50-58F, calm, heavy overcast, misty and raining. There was nothing visible beyond about a mile on my walk to the lanes. Three jackdaws resolutely guarded their blossom covered tree. A solitary Roe deer grazed against the far hedge, two fields over.As I stared at it through my [damp] binoculars a Red kite took off from the same hedge. Then floated effortlessly off into the distance with wings outstretched. The roads were very wet. With vehicles throwing up huge plumes of spray.
It dried up eventually. Though remaining depressingly overcast but still calm.
According to an expert report: The WHO were a toxic combination with world <cough> leaders for downplaying the pandemic. [Jinping Plague] The WHO leaders were directly responsible for millions of completely unnecessary deaths. Along with all the politicooze denialists who constantly made the headlines. Chump, et al.
Tuesday 11th 50F, heavy overcast with rain. Promised to continue raining all morning. The recent warm weather has gone again. My knee is hurting too. So any walk will have to be later.There were rain drops on the windows all day. My knee was hurting. So no walk. Two more days of rain are forecast. Three in a row is not an accident in my book. It is deliberate provocation by the rain gods. Or the meteorologists getting their revenge for my [subtle] criticism.
Is there any doubt that most catastrophes are avoidable? All it takes is for the weak link to help themselves to what is not theirs to take. Or to make evil rules without consent. To turn a blind eye for whatever reason.
Monday 10th 60-68F, bright but very cloudy. Hardly any wind. Already warmer than it has been in ages. Expected to reach over 70F today. It didn't. Not quite and felt cooler because of the cloud and wind.Though it felt warm and humid as I walked to the lanes. I retreated to the verge, as usual, on the approach of lorries. There seemed to be far more of them than usual. None of the drivers waved their thanks for my thoughtfulness.
Swallows are also increasing in numbers. I must have seen four today. The first warbler was singing unseen in the roadside hedgerow. No deer were visible today. While oil seed rape is competing boldly, with the first flush of leaves, for my attention in the landscape. Lots of white blossom too. The grain crops are all still looking like foot tall grass. Only their colour differentiates them to my untrained eye so far.
A short trip in the car mid-morning. I saw a Marsh harrier hunting over a field very close to the main road. The garden is filled with bird calls. I recognised noisy Wrens, Blue tits, Great tits, Green finches, Chaffinches, Sparrows and a warbler today. The tiny warbler flew up to my dormer window. Hovered and looked for spiders in the corners. The tits often do that too. Their speed and agility on the wing is amazing.
Sunday 9th 53-70F, bright and breezy after heavy, overnight rain. One forecast says cloudy all day. The competitor says full sunshine all day. Pick one.The sunshine is winning so far. A walk to the lanes without discomfort. The knee brace helps despite being only a floppy tube of sponge rubber. A pair of long tailed tits were foraging in the roadside trees. Capturing a sharp image of either of them was another matter. A solitary Roe deer was grazing beside the far hedge of the near field.
A cyclist passed on a training ride. Traffic was light even for a Sunday.
A long, warm and mostly sunny day. Reaching 70F for several hours in the afternoon. The heat has a thunder storm heading north from Holland. We would never have known about it if it were not for a thunderclap at 5pm. I doubt the drought will survive much longer.
Saturday 8th 47-57F, sunny. I'd better have a walk before I break something.
A walk to the lanes in bright sunshine but a cool breeze. Saw my first warbler of the year. The swallows are still all but absent. I have seen only a single example and two together so far. Similarly, the skylarks are hardly making an impact yet. A racing cyclist went past on a training ride. I heard his tyres roaring before he was in sight! The traffic was light and intermittent.
It is reported that the latest, desperate attempt to stop android.Advertising.con's direct impact has failed. The loss of a real life, to the entire global population, is incalculable. I can't post any links to the advertising [news] paper stories because every single one demands an "internal examination."
Tesla engineers are suggesting that Musk's talking up "self driving cars" is "grossly exaggerated."
Should've used Android O.S instead?
"Here is a message from your Tesla-Android driver: Thank you for using Tesla-Android.
¨Prepare for immediate impact with a junior school bus at illegally high speed.
But don't panic! Your air bags will keep you and your immature, trophy wife, driver safe!
KEEP ON McSLOBBIN'! There is a McSlobs outlet within easy walking distance of the <cough> accident site"
Friday 7th 40-50F, grey and cool [again!] Higher temperatures promised for Sunday. Today's weather is split between two competing forecasters. Who continue to accept their salaries despite a low level of confidence in their seaweed fondling skills.
A walk to the lanes with my knee brace providing greater comfort today. The breeze made it cold on the hands. A cat came strolling round a corner deep in thought. So that we weren't far apart by the time it woke to my presence. It crossed the road to avoid me. Before hiding in plain sight in the hedge. Later I saw a solitary Roe deer grazing against the far hedge, two fields over.
Sly "Plague" Jinping is now responsible for 27% of global emissions. China's CO2 production is now exceeding all other "developed" nations combined. His hazy plans for CO2 reduction by 2060 will push the Earth's temperatures beyond all, worst case scenarios.
No doubt he will use climate negotiations to obtain further power over the crippled West. Nothing like a nice bit of biological warfare to prove who's boss. All he has to do is copy Hitler but without acting like a complete retard. How can he possibly avoid becoming a global dictator for life?
Chump "Straight from the Dump" is using his Brownshirt henchmen. To empty his garbage onto the global advertising and rudeness platforms.
Thursday 6th 41F, grey start with more rain promised. I'd better get my hobble in before the downpour starts.
A walk to the lanes without too much discomfort. Where my knee suddenly decided it had had enough. So I limped slowly back home. A pair of small Roe deer were grazing against far hedges. One panicked and dashed off.
Chump is said to be livid over his continuing ban from the global, tax free, advertising agencies' "lies and damned lies" platforms. Chump's "Straight from the Dump" ego platform is said to have extreme right wing rednecks queuing around the clock to join. The puny little, gold plated, self server is said to be sweating profusely under its fake. ginger comb-over.
An "Entitled" minor European royal has illegally shot and killed the largest brown bear living wild in Europe. The animal was protected but what's that to a spoilt, minor royal brat? Did he need a big target just to prove his manhood? I suppose we should be grateful the minor brat didn't take his gun to the local zoo! Arthur RIP.
Google News is badly broken again. It just goes round and around in circles without showing half the content. I suppose the advertising AI realises that I can't click on 99.9% of the plagiarised news stories without the advertising agency's sites demanding I measure my <cough> "inside leg" with a vernier caliper and provide photographic proof. I kid you not!
News story to end all news stories: Global catastrophe!!! Google's AI goes rogue and decides that advertising is immoral and harmful to the vast majority of human beings. So it stops all advertising. Just like that. 😂
Wednesday 5th May 44F, another windy and [later] wet day.
It remained dry as I limped to the lanes. I forgot my scuba divers' wet suit, knee support. A large bird of prey was circling over the prairie. I stared at it in my binoculars but couldn't identify it. It looked like a Red kite but had a long rounded tail. Pointed wings and colour variations should have been indicative. It settled on a lone tree and remained there for twenty minutes. Finally leaving as I returned the same way. Though it was never nearer than 260 yards away.
Chump is to start a new self-publicity platform to promote himself from underdog to Under-God amongst his cult followers: Predictably it is to be called The Deluded White Trash Platform.[Or, more simply: Lies wot he wrote.] You will only be allowed to post heart emoticons in response to his words of wizenedom. 💖 Or swastikas if you are [of] that bent. It is ironic that his utterances would fail even the VW emissions test.
CORRECTION: Chump's new ego massaging platform is to be known as "Straight from the Dump."
Tuesday 4th 43-48F, gales with rain forecast for the next two-three days. Back to winter clothing for my walk. Where I had to dodge the traffic tyre spray. Which mostly showed absolutely no empathy for the soggy morning walker. Conversely, several drivers waved. Though but I have no idea who they were.
It was most unpleasant where the saddle is formed at the junction to the lanes. The absence of hedgerows simply adding to the misery. So that I had to stumble on. Blinded by the driving rain. I returned in a state of external wetness but dry and warm inside my jacket.
Our ancient toaster has ceased to work. Probably in sympathy with the ten year old kettle. Which only pretended to expire just recently. Then rose to boil, another day. The toaster, which had long shared its disputed borders with the recalcitrant kettle, must be really miffed. It gave up its life on a mere rumour. Built-in obsolescence rears its ugly head again! Woah! Thrice woah. It was ever thus.
Monday 3rd May 42F, overcast in the north but quite bright in the south and east. A walk to the lanes in a cool breeze. My knee is improving but slowly.
Sunday 2nd 44F, heavy overcast, it is supposed to be raining but isn't.
Typical! I put my foot outside the door and it starts to rain. Continuing until my return half an hour later. Never mind. The gardens need it.
Internet at 87Mbps instead of 200.
Saturday 1st May. 47F, bright but cloudy again. Dull, misty and solid cloud by the time I had my walk. Traffic quite busy and increasing. Trying an elastic bandage on my knee. Didn't seem to make things worse.
The recent law on "insane driving" and automatic vehicle confiscation has raised an interesting point: Why aren't there publicly available informal "race tracks" where car enthusiasts can "play" and compete against each other without using the public roads?
"Proper" race tracks are usually expensive to use and have strict safety rules and often scrutineering inspections. They have a very exclusive clientele with very exclusive expenditures on vehicles and their narrowly defined sport. As far as I know most race tracks have very limited opening times. Noise being an issue with limited public acceptance.
Many "ordinary" car fans like to drag race against each other. Often at night in quiet spots where "ordinary" traffic is unlikely. Industrial estates spring to mind here. Doing so on "ordinary" pubic roads is unsafe for the innocent road user, cyclist or pedestrian. Not to mention the drag racers themselves meeting unexpected, oncoming traffic! How many others visit industrial estates at night except to use them as dog toilets or to steal?
How difficult can it be to set up "no man's land" drag strips for amateurs to enjoy informally and safely at night? Without the very real risk of losing their only vehicle over which they have usually lavished considerable time and money? And, without the risk of losing the precious driving license which allows them to use their cars for vital, everyday transport. Without which their employment is very likely to be at serious risk.
There would have to be agreement with the police, insurance companies and local authorities. That specific sites, well away from built up areas, can be used for drag racing without formality or risk of prosecution. The loss of a vehicle to an accident is very much lower in a straight line of limited length. Always with a safe length of run out in which to slow down.
How the insurance companies will view these competitive activities is another matter. The car enthusiast is going to compete with others anyway. Usually doing so on public roads. With the far greater risk to other road users. Is pretending to not knowing about their clients competitive habits an excuse for not allowing more organised but still informal, drag racing?
