31st January 2020 Utter blog confusion!

*

Friday 31st Jan, 44-46F, heavy overcast and windy from the west. Walked to the lanes and was glad for my hood as the wind roared in the roadside hedges.

After morning coffee I rode an errand on the trike. Only 6 miles but it was hilly. I was hanging off the side like a sidecar passenger to stay on in the more exposed places. It rained in the afternoon.

January, in Denmark, was the warmest since  records began in 1873.

My apologies if you saw a post here showing one of my construction projects and the wrong date. Google keeps changing to another blog every time I hit New Post. I can only presume it is somebody on their staff being bloody minded. I can't imagine what Google could possibly gain from changing from one blog to another, repeatedly and deliberately, back and forth. Perhaps Google AI is having a laugh?

28.01.2020 Superstition for dummies.

~~~~
Tuesday 28th 41-42F, very dark overcast with rain. Supposed to dry up to another grey day. Breezy but only light rain on my walk. I disturbed a large, grey heron which was foraging on a roadside field. A grey, miserable day with rain at intervals.
Wednesday 29th 38-42F, cloudy, but the promise of sunny periods. Or no sunny periods at all. Eeny meany miney, mo?
It rained as I turned off into the lanes. Then it stopped. So I plodded on further uphill to capture the gloom. Sunny periods later in the morning! Though with plenty of cloud. 😎
Thursday 30th 44F, dark overcast with fine rain. Walkies! It was that particularly wet, fine rain. I could hear it falling on my hood  and see it crossing the fields like mist on the westerly wind.
Our lives are based entirely on superstition. It contains us, restrains us and maintains us in crawling, stop-go, forward motion. We assume so much based on so little evidence. We leave the house in the morning confident we shall return without fail. We believe that we will always find enough food, enough warmth, enough money, enough "things" to survive happily into old age. While totally ignoring all the evidence that our pitiful diet and total lack of exercise will kill us sooner than we believe. That going heavily into debt is a sensible way of living.
The evidence is against us that we can drink and drive and use the mobile phone behind the wheel while drugged. Ice on the road has no more meaning than illegal speed. It doesn't register beyond the opaque walls of superstition. We believe we will not meet our end, let alone a patrolling, police car.
The evidence, of the unbelievably vast number of fines, deaths and injuries, suggests that most drivers speed illegally at least most of the time. Our belief is that speed cameras do not exist. Nor do they register your speed. And if they did it would be grossly "unfair." So unfair, that drivers will frequently attack the staff in the radar van or official personnel beside the road. Some drives actually believe that cyclists and crossing patrol persons are sent from hell just to torment them alone.
We believe that the right car, the right model, the right colour, with the right wheels and the right accessories will make us invincible on the road, at work and in society in general. Audi/BMW spend hundreds of millions perfecting the suspension and handling of their cars. So that drooling morons can overshoot most corners. The rest are cutting every corner because they are simply too lazy to drive all the way around despite the double white lines.
Each generation becomes more lazy than the last and still believes it is a good thing to do less. We complain when the TV remote control does not perform when once we would have to rise from our chairs to turn an ugly knob. We complain while wait for lift when the evidence shows that climbing the stairs would prolong your miserably impatient life by a full decade.
27.01.2020 Going backwards downhill. Grr!
~~~~

Monday 27th 41F, another grey day with rain. It rained on me as I walked briskly to the lanes. Fortunately I was waterproof and returned unscathed.

The need for an errand demanded a gate pass for the trike in the afternoon. I'd only travelled half a mile when I saw a fully streamlined tadpole trike. Going well, they were too, but on the opposite side of the road. Though I'd never have been able to follow them. I haven't seen a stream-liner in years. Dark blue with a flashing orange light on top if anyone is reading this

I turned off down the country lanes immediately afterwards to avoid the main road traffic. Just ahead was a keen cyclist in a bright jacket on a racing bike. He was absolutely dawdling along and hardly bothering to pedal most of the time.

Yet on every minor descent he effortlessly freewheeled away from me. While I was turning myself inside out desperately trying to catch them! I've had little old ladies [and big ones!] just cruise away from me downhill. As they freewheeled on sit up and beg bikes, with fat and often flat tyres.

The trike must have some seriously well hidden drag somewhere. The wheels seem to turn freely, the tyres are 23 front and 25 x 700C rear, hard at 90+psi and the brakes certainly aren't dragging. Still they ride away from me as I hide my nose behind the handlebar extension to reduce my wind resistance.

Does not compute! Never has. Never will! Only 8 miles but it was good to get out again. Not that I had any real wind to fight the wind. My legs didn't feel too bad at all, despite my slowness downhill, while pedaling like a mad thing!

25.01.2020 Do you want extra greys with that?

~

Saturday 25th 42F, dark grey overcast with light winds. A drizzle shower attacked me in the lanes but I survived. Spent the day hiding from the drizzle in the shed.

Sunday 26th 38F, dark grey overcast and breezy. One, professional seaweed groper is offering sunny periods this morning. The other is offering extra grey periods. Eany, meany, miney... Bit of a cold headwind on the way back from the lanes. Quiet, Sunday morning traffic. Except when it wasn't.

How do you explain to any neighbour that a dog which barks constantly is not a guard dog. "The dog which cried wolf?" We have suffered dogs barking for decades in every home we have owned. How can anyone "normal" consider themselves entitled to have a barking dog? I suppose it takes the same sort of brain dead, sociopathic indifference required to own a cockerel which crows day and night. Care in the Community has a lot to answer for! They can't lock them up, any more. While the new, multi-billion Kroner, Danish mental hospital is unfit for [human] habitation! Five hundred windows are all leaking like a sieve. That's progress for you.

24.01.2020 Car: Terminal. RIP. Cue: Headless chicken routine.

~

Friday 24th 41-44F, grey overcast with early, fine rain. Walked to the lanes in light drizzle. Shopping
for stove wood block fuel in the car pm. Or so I hope! The last door lock is giving up after 22 years of wear. The boot and passenger side locks stopped working ages ago. Having watched a couple of videos on cylinder replacement this just adds another high hurdle to continued ownership. The poor old car needs a permanent rest. The engine keeps missing despite a couple of tank fulls of 100 octane.

The exhaust has just started to get noisy. That cost £600 for a new system just a few years back. The car hasn't had much exercise for some years but has always been reliable until now. I'd hate to have to spend serious money to get it all working again. It isn't worth anything and has started to rust underneath the doors.

We live rurally but hardly isolated. Can we live without a car? The stove could have a full pallet of blocks delivered, I suppose. I would have to take up cycle shopping far more seriously again. What to do?

I know! Panic and rush around like a headless chicken! That should work. What if I get locked out on a shopping trip? Make a car thief's hook to trip the inside operating rod? It looks easy enough in the films...What was it called?  Five hours of fiddling and away?

All went according to plan and I was not locked out of the car. Though it did refuse to lock once. Better that, than the converse and a long walk home with mountains of shopping. The price of secondhand cars seem to be several times that of the UK. I did a quick online scan after reading a UK best choice review.

23.01.2020 We have a winner!

*

Thursday 23rd 40F, very dark overcast with light winds. More grey and more wind expected. Hardly any wind on my brisk walk to the village and back. Nothing much to report either. The drainage ditches have returned to winter normal. No more brown, rushing torrents for the moment. The field puddles are shrinking again.

Denmark has won the global competition to be the least corrupt land according to Transparency International. Despite some recent, high profile setbacks, Denmark maintains a highly independent judiciary and news media. Freedom of speech is considered important and frequently costs the taxpayer millions to protect the more outspoken.

Perhaps it has something to do with the Scandinavian ethic. You don't hear much about buying personal justice here. Which is extremely commonplace elsewhere as an automatic entitlement of wealth.

Denmark usually gets the highest marks for "Happiest People too." The low levels of inequality probably helps here. It was a shock to see how well dressed people were on average even after living in wealthy Bath. The Gravely Blighted looked like a nation of total scruffs in comparison. Tradesmen enjoy a uniform code which raises the overall standard.

There does not seem to be the universal criminality of Gravely Blighted. Where if something is not fixed down it is considered fair game. This makes for a much more relaxed existence. When we first came here there were rural garages left wide open all day long with power and garden tools on display. Garden are often decorated with masses of children's toys and lawnmowers are often left out. They never seem to disappear.

Wealth was actually looked down on for a very long time in Scandinavia. Enshrined in the unofficial, Jante's Law of equality in everything. Including maintaining universal, village idiocy. Most women work. Which means a more equitable economic and social system. Plus higher overall wealth with two adults earning very similar pay. Holidays and rights to time off are generous and well established.

There is strong union representation amongst workers. Wages are agreed rather than being constantly fought for with strikes. The unions will actually go around building sites checking for Danish compliance with nationally agreed wages and conditions. Though there is an ongoing battle with foreign subcontractors maintaining slave wages and conditions. Even on prestige government projects! One loophole, allowing foreign, slave wage and conditions, lorry drivers to work in Denmark has just been closed.

22.01.2020 Too big to tax? Ask Twiddle Dumb.

~

Wednesday 22nd 39F, clearer skies promise some sunshine today.

Denmark's "country for cyclists" has hit a road block. Or rather a cycle path block. The <cough> "super" cycle path leading into Esbjerg, on the west coast, has had two street lamp post placed directly in the pathway. The council claims sub-contractors are responsible. Several weeks have passed and more will pass again before the lamp posts are finally moved onto the pavement. Et entrepenørfirma har præsteret en ommer på en nyetableret cykelsti i Esbjerg. Kevin Lund

The following source is in Danish and belongs to the Danish commercial TV station TV2. I have added arrows to the picture. To help the subcontractors and council workers. Who may not recognise the offending lamp post as an obstruction when they see one. Rumour has it that foreign workers were employed to save money. A common occurrence in Denmark.

Council places lamp post in the middle of the cycle path.

BTW: Note the completely worn out lines on the pedestrian crossing on the left. This is what they call High Visibility for Pedestrian Safety in Denmark. No expense spared when it comes to road safety in Denmark.

Meanwhile Denmark's pretence to reduce CO2 production by 70% by 2930 actually showed increased production by 4% in 2019. It must be the free pass they gave all the major, Danish, CO2 producers. A green flag to continue producing greenhouse gases. Without the minor nuisance or expense of climate taxes to which only small companies are subject.

Talking of "too big to tax": After Macaroni went all floppy to Washington pressure against taxing the trillion dollar US monopolies, the UK has come under similar pressure. Global economic and climate dictatorship by a US dictator even "they" can't get rid of?

Von Chump has publicly trashed those concerned by climate warming. About 60% of the US population and rising rapidly. While St. Greta sat in the audience at Davos. You can't blame him though. He wouldn't know the truth if it stared him in the face. Plus, even the most basic science is completely beyond him.

Von Chump is not the last man standing on global warming. All the CO2 rich economies are in denial. Including the voluntary PM of Australia, Coyote 'AWOL' Morrison. The Twiddle D [for Disaster] to Von Chump's Twiddle Dumb. Did you know that "tweedle" means to whistle or play an instrument inanely?

21.01.2020 Woah, woah, thrice woah!

~

Tuesday 21st 42F, grey overcast, mild [for winter] and soon to be windy. The wind was already cold on my brisk walk to the lanes.

The human race doesn't have a chance if a pandemic spreads from China. Delete a page full of very obvious reasons. We are all doomed! 😉 I put that in to piss off Von Chump. Anybody worried about climate are simply "fairground fortune tellers" according to the world's most hated man.

We are having a trial week of Amazon Prime TV streaming. The film "Bicycle" from 2014 is excellent. Nicely balanced and without one irritating moment as I reach half way through.

I had no idea I was involved in a sea change when I cycle commuted between Bath and Bristol in my youth. I rode an original Dursley Pedersen and a vintage tricycle on my 15 miles each way, daily commute.

I tried the famous cycle path once and found it littered with profoundly deaf, dog walkers and their droppings. Profoundly deaf horse riders and their droppings. Which were growing weeds along the middle of the cycle path. Then there were all the profoundly deaf and pig ignorant families spread right out across the path. With pushchairs and prams and dogs running wild.

All completely oblivious to the cyclists for whom the path was created. It was quicker and arguably safer, to ride the main road through Keynsham. I would pass certain vehicles stuck in queues in Bath. Then see them again stuck in the same queues in Bristol. Though that was later spoilt by the Keynsham Bypass. Which provided a section where they could go much faster than I could.

I remember there being a pandemic of ladybirds one day. Miles and miles of solid ladybirds on the wing. I also remember motorists deliberately blocking my path in the Bristol queues. They would turn sharply in towards the pavement to stop me overtaking them on the inside. A round-the-world cyclist. With legs like muscly tree trunks. Pulled up alongside one day as I pedaled along. We chatted for a while before he went up a gear and left me plodding into the wind.

I used to wear a newspaper under my jumper in the winter. Which wasn't really too bad. Except that it didn't keep my hands warm. Then disaster struck and I was conned by Blacks of Greenock, Bristol Branch, into paying over the odds for some polyurethane proofed waterproofs. In bright orange for visibility on the road and in the Welsh mountains. I sweated profusely for the next 50 odd years in various examples of those clumsily tailored "bin bags."

Choose tightly woven, properly windproof cotton if you do have a choice. Being wet through inside a bin bag is no better than being wet through on the outside. Polyurethane proofed clothing provides both simultaneously, once they are the slightest bit worn. The mobile sauna and the mobile shower cubicle combined. Nice!

National Geographic has joined the dodgy news services. If you scroll, or close the cookie warning banner on one of their linked web pages, on Google News, you are automatically loaded with their cookies. No choice. At all. I'll ask again: Is this legal?

I wonder why they called them cookies? Why not mind worms? Or cockroaches? I like cockroaches best as a new name for cookies. They hide in the dark places and then scurry out in their billions. Like a plague they go everywhere. It seems they regurgitate rotting spam. Why is it illegal to send an email with spam but not illegal to show uninvited adverts literally everywhere you go?

20.01.2020 Pass the snow shovel!

~

Monday 20th 39F, dark grey overcast. Still almost dark at 8.00am. Another grey day is forecast. A cold wind under a ribbed sky. A narrow strip of wave cloud stretched from horizon to horizon. Sadly it never came close enough for my camera to capture it effectively.

Danish farmers turned up at the minister's farming talk with 300 of their huge tractors to protest the latest climate rules. There is a last ditch attempt to stop run-off from the fields causing complete oxygen depletion in Danish waterways. The farmers want to be able to spread even more pig's diarrhoea and fertilizer into the streams, rivers and coastal waters.

The previous government of the "Farmers Rule Party" relaxed the rules. This led to a massive increase in run-off. Exactly as predicted by the experts, of course. The farmers are saying that their massively overcrowded and sickly, indoor pigs will starve without more food being grown. The arguments about farming go round and round like crop rotations. Give an inch. Take a mile. Adjust to the new mile and call that the new standard. Only to demand another mile disguised as an inch.

I had to smile at the massive snowfall in Canada. What did they do? They started digging out their deeply buried cars so they could drive on the snow-blocked roads. Where did they put all that snow? On the pavement? Or on the road?

We had 40cm/ 16" of snow, plus drifting, in a single, overnight fall, some years back. It took us days to dig out a 100 meter length of drive using builders shovels and working alone. Just so that we could drive to the village to buy some food.

Walking along the cleared, main road would have been absolutely lethal! There were high banks along each side from the snow ploughs going repeatedly back and forth. So there would be no escape for pedestrians wading through the deep, salty puddles between the [illegally speeding] traffic. Nobody around here slows down just for a bit of snow and ice. Just count how many fall off the road onto the verge! No pure bred Dane has independently discovered tyre spray yet. So it can't officially exist under Jante's Law.

As soon as we had cleared the drive, our pathologically lazy, young neighbour drove down to his shed to collect some beer. He hadn't lifted a finger to help. Despite the law stating he was equally responsible, with the other neighbour, for snow clearing along their own own boundaries. Fat chance!

By law, we needn't have done anything! [Except starve.] We didn't know the rules back then and they wouldn't have helped us one iota if we had. Who would we complain to? The council? They would have searched their files to see if there was anything they could complain about, to us! Been there. Done that.

Rural community spirit? Don't make me laugh! Only later did we discover lightweight, combined snow shovels and scrapers would have made much lighter work of it. We could have moved the whole lot into a huge pile right outside their houses at the far end. Or even blocked access to his beer storage shed back at our end. Ah, the wisdom of perfect hindsight!

Statistically, snow clearing kills a lot of unfit people with strokes and heart attacks. It's lucky we are such fit pensioners! Even in my 70s I'd still be able to do it all over again. Just more quickly using the correct tools. It took four to five months for that snow to finally disappear the next spring. It's years now since we had to clear the drive of snow. It's an ill climate which doesn't do somebody good.

18.01.2020 As one door closes so another closes.

 ~

Saturday 18th 40F, heavy overcast and breezy. Another grey day is forecast. After early teasing of weak sunshine from the horizon it descended into overcast with light rain at times.

 Denmark's deepest lake [at 500'] has never fully recovered from the 2018 drought.

Sunday 19th 34F, clear but cold. Sunshine forecast for most of the day with northerly winds. Huntsmen turned up to practice their Sunday plank dropping exercises. A chill wind accompanied unbroken sunshine.

In an unlikely coincidence of timing the totally decrepit and utterly irrelevant monarchy writes its spider's scrawl, suicide note to the future. Just as Boris writes his own absence note to the EU in the absence of any responsible adult. What has the UK really gained?

A few more, or less, Chinese tourists? A few less, utterly pointless headlines from the lower order's, cartoon tabloids? Lower minimum wages, [if any.] While the director moves into a second, stately home? Due to the absence of affordable homes in The Capital. As the money launderers fight their turf wars over desirable property and expanding their drugs empires. Meanwhile the planes constantly roar overhead. To-ing an fro-ing between packed resorts full of drunken, beached whales and the skin cancer wards.

In Danish news, the flagrant production of CO2, by countless, medieval church, central heating boilers is to end. The last of the remaining, elderly church goers have gone to their old people's homes in the sky. Churches will become available to rent for weddings and funerals. At all other times the boilers will no longer be stoked for empty services and constantly empty buildings. Except when the builders are in for repairs, of course.

Nor will the churchyards be constantly tended as they are now. Nor, presumably, will the buildings be re-painted the traditional white every couple of years. At vast expense to the compulsory taxpayer. I expect the same was true when the Vikings were compulsorily converted to Christianity. Back when all the old rings, henges and mounds were taken over by the new-fangled wooden churches. Before long they invented witch burning to keep the congregations warm at compulsory, winter services.

Plans are afoot to store Danish CO2 in old oil and gas wells under the sea. Only the largest producers would have CO2 stripped from their chimneys and sent down from a buoy marking a hose out at sea. Norway has been storing CO2 underground for years. While the technology is bulky and costly, it is available "off the shelf." Smaller producers would have to continue to reduce their CO2 as technology and energy systems advance. Denmark now produces half of its energy from wind and solar.

16.01.2020 Every "Cloud" has a tax-free, silver lining.

 ~

Thursday 16th 41-44F, clear start and daylight at 8.30. Soon clouded over despite forecast sunshine. A bit breezy on my walk to the lanes. Saw a Brambling which I first took to be a Chaffinch. I apologized and we moved on. 2019 is officially confirmed as second warmest year, ever, after 2016. Which was affected by El Ninõ. Just a few brief glimpses of sunshine now at 11.00 but the sky is overcast as usual.

The BBC News is suddenly going overboard on climate. Can't imagine why unless they are hoping for more replays of The David Attenborough Show. Perhaps it is in retaliation for Boris dropping earlier lies promises to take the climate [slightly more] seriously.

Scientists are having sleepless nights over the rapidly increasing ice melt in Greenland and sea level rising unchecked. No doubt Boris sleeps like a babe. In a very big, rubber dinghy on the second floor of No10. London and the East Coast are extremely vulnerable to higher tides.

Friday 17th 41-44F, bright start but a cold SE wind. The clouds seemed to be entirely constructed from the unusually long-lived vapour trails of the countless aircraft which had flown high overhead. Tax free, Google Advertising Inc. is officially worth a trillion dollars. Think how many hospitals that would pay for, in Europe, if they paid any taxes [at all] here on the profits they make entirely in Europe.

It must be one of the best jobs on the planet for their vast armies of ambulance chasers and tax dodging specialists. Money no object. Write your own salary cheque. As long as it doesn't lead to paying any taxes. They don't want to start a precedent. Or the other trillion dollar, US monopolies will have to start paying taxes too. And that would never do.

So called, news websites are now so desperate to unload cookies on visitors that closing the cookie warning banner, or even scrolling the page, automatically makes the visitor accept all cookies. They are no longer content with central blocking banners demanding cookie acceptance.

This latest, desperate measure must surely be illegal under EU law? Since it demands the visitor reads the entire text of the bottom of the page banner. Without the visitor having any chance to decline cookies by allowing a free choice to be made. Have the "news" websites become hackers in their bid to earn a crust from selling their visitors details to anyone willing to pay in an insanely over-saturated, advertising market? The Danish TV news website suggests that 9 out of 10 websites break the law on cookies.

15.01.2020 Denmark puts off any CO2 reduction until 2830. Blames EU corruption.

~

Wednesday 15th 49F, very dark overcast, all day rain and gales. Fortunately, the overnight gales went completely unnoticed by myself. I walked down to the marsh pond in a strong tail wind but only light rain. A pair of herons moved away but I saw no other birds on the lake. A flock of perhaps one hundred Fieldfares were practicing emergency landings on a roadside field. Then somebody panicked and the whole cloud of birds shot right over my head and dispersed onwards.

Denmark's largest CO2 producers have been handed a free license to manufacture even more CO2 by the EU. You know, the same, corrupt EU which wants to spend an absolute fortune fighting climate change? That's right. Them. The ones who launder billions in pointless projects for the mafia.

Denmark's largest firms have been given the green light to carry on as normal and are actually increasing their CO2 production. By burning more coal, in the case of Rockwool. A spokesperson said they might get around to changing to electricity or even GAS [another fossil fuel just like coal] if they feel like it.

Where's the pressure to improve when there is absolutely no pressure to change? The EU's excuse for blocking progress on major CO2  manufacturers? Outside competition! Dugh. Denmark's smaller businesses must all pay climate taxes. Only the largest are freed. Denmark claims it wants to reduce CO2 manufacture by 70% by the year 2830. Fat chance!!

It is official. 2000-2010 was the hottest decade on record. 2019 may be the hottest ever recorded after 2016. 2020 is expected to be as hot or even hotter. We have already reached 1.2C above pre-industrial levels. With those in power lying through their teeth about change for the better. Election promises are dropped like hot potatoes as soon as their salaries and pensions are safely raised. Most world leaders are deliberately ignorant and belittling of those who demand change. The car industries are slowly dying as public transport fares rise inexorably to match deliberate overcrowding for profit.

14.01.2020 Batteries ARE included.

~

Tuesday 14th 44F, dark grey, raining hard and blowing a gale! How long it will rain is the usual tug of war between competing weather services.  Very late walk after the rain stopped. Everything still very wet.

Australia's wildfires have released as much CO2 as is "normal" Australian CO2 production for a whole year. NASA confirms that their satellites are tracking the smoke across South America and expect it to travel right around the globe. Scientists say these wildfires will become "normal" in a warming climate. Meanwhile, the warming of the oceans is still accelerating.

Denmark has an all electric, car ferry for an island passenger service. The future is here! Batteries are included.

Elon "TeslaBoy" Musk announces that full, self-driving cars are now, very close.

Tesla's value is now greater than GM and Ford combined. Not bad from a standing start against two vast, but ageing dinosaurs with no new tricks. Dinosaurs, whose management repeatedly predicted Tesla failure and bankruptcy. It's the age old story: Those who can't, criticize. It's all they have to offer. The "stock in trade" for every politicoozer on the planet.

Meanwhile [The 1% 's] <cough> news <cough> papers report that one particular granny was terrified by a Tesla being remotely "called to heel" by its owner. OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!

Meanwhile cont'd:  3287 real people die EVERY SINGLE DAY on the roads. None of these martyrs to human drivers seems to have made the <cough> news <cough> paper headlines. I wonder why? Not celeb enough to warrant a mention?

Denmark's councils [Dan. kommunes] have a system where the richest contribute to the poorest. One of the very poorest is now having to pay the very richest because Philippine Au-pairs are going home. Which is calculated to mean a reduction in inhabitants for the wealthiest areas of Denmark. Triggering an automatic need for extra funding. Only in Denmark?

I enjoyed a ride to another village shop  along very quiet, rural lanes. Still a strong wind and grey skies. Distant farms were briefly gilded by bright holes in the overcast. Not one field, of the dozens I passed, had escaped the dreaded minor flooding. There were many places in the lanes where puddles reached half way across. Hindered only by the camber from reaching further afield. A good chance to wash all the mud from the wheels. Only 8 miles, but it was good to get out on the trike again.

A huge storm over Scotland will cause southwesterly gusts to 20m/s or 45mph [or even more] here in mid Denmark in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

13.01.2020 One way or another.

~

Monday 13th 39F, dark and cloudy. Another grey day in prospect. Grey it remained for my walk to the village. The drainage ditches are fuller than I  remember seeing them.

"AWOL" Morrison is discovering that everything has to be paid for. One way or another. Cut services and make savings at people's expense, for reasons of dogma and the taxpayer will have to pay for the resulting chaos.

The Australian, aboriginal peoples used to have controlled burns. They knew how to greatly reduce the risk of uncontrolled fires, make the land fertile and increase the stock and variety of wildlife. This was practiced for tens of thousand of years. With the expert knowledge handed down to each succeeding generation. These "heathen ways" were soon set aside when criminals invaded Australia and stole the land from the people for private profit. Everything has to be paid for. One way or another.

The blindness of Australian farming practices has caused desert and drought. Drought is the result of the theft of the land's natural resources for private profit and exploitation. It didn't have to be this way. There are proven ways to maintain water resources, ground moisture and fertility. It was beginning to be practiced but far too little and far too late. Farmers seem to prefer deserts and compensation for their own idiocy. Everything has to be paid for. One way or another.

Denmark has the opposite problem with wet, low lying land. The farmers are paid for every square centimeter to over-exploitat the land they temporarily own. If the wetlands are drained and standard, intensive agriculture is practiced it will be the equivalent of HALF A MILLION CARS RUNNING CONSTANTLY AT TICK-OVER. How will selling a few hundred electric cars to the middle classes help to balance this massive increase in CO2?

Denmark already has very serious problems with agricultural pollution of its ground water. Pesticides come and go. But mostly they sink to where Denmark's drinking water is sourced by deep boreholes. No week passes when news headlines aren't lifting the lid on a new agricultural poison found in the latest drinking water tests.

What's next? Will "they" soon have to spend a fortune on universal filtering or chemical treatment? Or will it be necessary to distill every drop of water coming from the taps? Denmark's politicooze seem to prefer to give farmer's a completely free choice on poisons and how they abuse the land. Everything has to be paid for. One way or another.

Denmark has "enjoyed" its hottest, driest and wettest years on record almost consecutively. We had a massive plague of killer slugs! Farmers had no winter feed for their overstocked, intensively reared, antibiotic stuffed, sickly, indoor animals.

Resistant bacteria became a serious problem in hospitals due to antibiotic overdosed, meat consumption. Hospitals were killing patients instead of curing them! All this within the last couple of years. What a way to run a fragile world!

Talking of which:  District Heating is cheaper and produces less CO2 than centralized, gas heating units. The Danish taxpayer owned, national gas company is objecting to every local plan to convert from gas to District Heating. Which is not only costing extra expense for the gas, increased charges for heating homes and increased CO2, but greatly increased expenditure on legal fees to fight each case. Welcome to 70% CO2 reduction, by 2730, by Danish rules.

Saturday 11th 38-41F, cloudy, but gorgeous orange patterns heading for another grey day. In the five minutes it took me to be ready for my walk the sky had already changed completely.

Ragged, low cloud was streaming across from the south. Providing dramatic colour and contrast against a late rising sun. A turquoise band stretching across the horizon teased me with brief glimpses of the bright solar disk.

Now I have returned, 41 more pictures the richer, the sky is rapidly becoming its familiar, dull, grey overcast. Very heavy shopping in the car.

Denmark is building large heat pumps working on the thermal energy of seawater. An expansion of the city of Aarhus [Pron: Orhoose] required a "Green" means of heating lots of new homes. With the ever increasing production of wind energy the new District Heating system should be very CO2 friendly by the time it is required.

Sunday 12th 42F,  dark grey overcast, wet and windy. There were noisy gales overnight. Rain forecast for the whole day today. Still waiting for it to get light enough for a walk at 8.45. By 9.00am it was no better. So I donned my wet weather gear and pottered off down the stream which currently pretends to be our drive.

I walked for half a mile down the road listening to the patter of rain on my hood. The few cars, spraying far and wide, were given an appropriately wide berth. Turning back was quite a shock! Instead of walking with the wind I was now facing a gale-driven downpour. The field, flood ponds are even larger today.

"AWOL" Morrison, the part time, voluntary PM of Australia, has finally seen the firelight. His chances of an electoral toast, have fallen caviar side down. As yet another fireman dies involuntarily. We'll gloss over the billion wild animals which have given their all for Morrison's glittering, part time, voluntary career.

AWOL's latest ploy is to call on the world to have a global climate plan. Strewth! An absolutely  guaranteed way of avoiding Australia ever having any climate plan of its own. Doesn't P,A,R,I,S A,G,R.E,E,M,E,N,T mean anything to you AWOL? Even you must have heard of it?  😉

10.01.20 Creepy, YouTube, child abuse, broken bad.

~

Friday 10th 43F, another long, grey, wet day. Possibly with invisible sunny periods. [Again!] No sign of any sunshine but it drizzled on my walk. The puddles in the fields are turning back into ponds again. The drive is liquid from end to end.

In another US plea deal, gone bad, Google/YouTube agrees to a pocket change [tax deductible] fine in exchange for stopping their obscene, Peeping Tom, closely targeted, advertising sales crap aimed at exploiting children. The fine is a fraction of Google's last quarter, tax-free profits.

They will now have to stop using their child tracking cookies to match advertising to their intimate knowledge of every waking child on the planet. A global ring of seedy, pedophile, Peeping Toms, in every child's bedroom, doesn't even begin to cover their crimes against humanity for largely, tax free profit.

It seems Google's license to print their own money has hit a solitary piece of gravel on the smoothly polished road to total, monopolistic, advertising supersaturation. Their ability to place adverts on carefully targeted, children's sales videos has made YouTube the largest, children's drug dealer [by far] on the planet.

Every parent knows the intense pressure to supply their children with the latest toys, clothes, gimmicks and stupid crazes. YouTube Peeping Toms.Inc. has turned parents into drug dealers. Forcing them to  supply their own children with deliberately packaged, serial, adrenaline spiked, instant gratification. And after the toys, what then? Soft drugs "influencing" followed by crack cocaine sales hype?

With dumb luck, YouTube might just had been stopped before their obscenely overpaid, sales staff [aka: influencers] started direct selling plastic surgery to small children. When does it stop being an advertising company and becomes deliberate, commercial, global, child [and adult] abuse?

It is ironic that the vilest, communist despots can only dream of the information and control that these commercial, monopoly abusers enjoy. Every online news story and news channel is now blocked by a demand for agreeing to permanent, open house to their prying cameras, microphones, TV programme choice, smart speakers, mobile phones, browser searches, keyboard readers and AI algorithms.

Including opening your children's bedrooms, bathrooms, play parks and school playgrounds to these evil, commercial, sociopathic regimes. If they were judged on their morals alone, these trillion dollar outfits would be homeless and living in an active sewer of their own making.

Just wait until these totally immoral juggernauts get their advertising onto every smart gadget in your home! These monopoly, commercial despots are already holding meetings to agree on how to spread the advertising message. So that can ensure you have no privacy nor any escape anywhere on the planet.

They are already crowding the sky with their universal advertising, satellite constellations! What's next? Advertising hoardings  and bus shelter screens hard selling product as Big Brother monitors and responds instantly to your route around town?

Tesla is going for dashboard screens with the potential for advertising between its entertainment offerings. They can't wait for their self driving cars to become universal. So you can be subjected to subliminal advertising crap 100% of your waking hours. While you sit back in your privately bought, self-driving taxi on your way to work or for an evening out.

6.1.2020 Grey, grey and more grey.

~

Monday 6th 43F, a bit misty with a very dark grey overcast and a light breeze. 09:00 and it is still quite dark! It looks like it is raining but I can't be certain until I go outside. Nope. Still heavily overcast as the mist clears very slowly. It drizzled for most of the day while I worked on a project at home.

Dirty car production and sales continue to fall. The lack of clarity over likely, clean air legislation is blamed. Not sure how that works when sales are down to 2013 levels.

Tuesday 7th 43F, dark grey overcast with rain. The promised sunshine has been cancelled. A few small blue patches sailed over on my walk to the village. Not enough to bring any sunshine.

Wednesday 8th 46F, windy, heavy, dark overcast but slightly milder.  We are threatened with some sunshine after lunch.The sky remained leaden on my brisk walk to the lanes. A line of geese were heading south and then suddenly turned west. Very odd, but I suppose they know what they're doing. There was never any sunshine.

Thursday 9th 39-48F, very, very, dark overcast. The forecast is rain with sunny periods or rain without sunny periods. Eeny, meany, miney mo. In fact it was raining and then not raining and then raining harder. Fortunately I am comfortably waterproof thanks to my clothing upgrades of this year. It rained all day but became milder in the afternoon.

The news is that many, common, prescription and over-the-counter drugs can seriously affect a user's mental behavior. Many in the medical profession are in complete denial. Keep taking the tablets. Sadly, this means I have no excuses for any errant behavior. We prefer not to take any tablets at all.

5.1.20 Dumb and dumber?

~

Sunday 5th 35F, cool, dark grey and almost calm. A light crust of ice lay on the puddles. With just a hint of crunch to the lightly frosted grass.

There was a gorgeous, orange sky in the east for just a little while. Though another, long, grey day lies in prospect. In fact the sky remained beautiful for the duration of my walk. Both speckled and marbled grey and gold by turn.

A solitary, juvenile swan seemed confused. As it beat the air noisily, flying back and forth three times, over the same half mile route. It continued out of sight on the fourth lap. Perhaps it has been separated from its family.

I am still seeing Redwings and Fieldfares foraging the fields and hedges. While pretty Bullfinches are enjoying the tall weeds on some rough ground. Sometimes it is difficult to walk the drive unhindered without disturbing a dozen Blackbirds and just as many Sparrows.

I can't help but notice recent news headlines about the ultra-ultra-ultra-ultra-ultra-trivial. Is mankind descending into mass, drooling idiocy? Or are the headlines simply descending to the same level?

As absolute proof I offer:

Expressing online hatred for participants in TV programmes.
Online and physical attacks on sportspersons or their property.
Seriously?

4.1.20 "And don't call me Sauron!" 😊

~

Saturday 4th 40F, dark grey, blowing a gale and raining. Some sunshine is promised in a late update. It may stop raining at 10 or it might stop raining after lunch. Eany, meany, miney, mo.

The laden leaden sky started to break up during my walk. It is now sunny with rapidly thinning cloud.

Coyote "AWOL" Morrison is getting heartily sick of whinging fire victims going on global TV. So he has sent in 3000 army reserves to help the unpaid voluntary firefighters. Some of whom have lost literally everything, including their own lives, while fighting other people's fires. Many firefighters have not received any wages from their regular jobs while firefighting.

Coyote "AWOL" has also set aside $10m of coal laundering money for hiring water bombers. And, as a great personal favour, even given special permission for the planes to be temporarily housed at forces airfields.

Now we just need to hear that the Ozzy insurance companies are refusing to pay out on fires because the firefighter was not present to extinguish his own flames. Or, their favourite get out clause: The fires are "an act of god." I'm pretty sure even "AWOL" would deny he's that important. Except to himself, of course. What a way to run somebody else's country!

"And don't call me Sharon!" When asked the name of climate activist, Greta Thunberg, on a panel show, a clueless actress went completely blank and answered "Sharon." Never mind, Greta, at least she didn't call you "Sauron!" We'll leave that to the corrupt dictator of pro-coal USA. Or even the corrupt, pro-coal, gas and oil, dictator of Proto-Soviet Russia II. 😉

03.01.2020 Tesla Rooles The Road, Okay?

~

Friday 3rd Jan 2020 43F, windy, heavy overcast and raining. Expected to continue all day.

Denmark is now producing 50% of its power from wind and solar. Superconducting materials have been used in the generator of one large wind turbine on test here at Thyboron. This should lead to greater efficiency and lighter weight over time as turbines grow ever larger.

An efficient means of energy storage would absolutely revolutionise "green energy" due to its present variability. Perhaps electrolysis will aid the development of the anticipated hydrogen economy?

The best way forwards, for the world, would be for oil and petrol prices to escalate beyond the reach of many ordinary abusers. This would spur demand for the rapid uptake of much cheaper EVs.

The traditional car makers are absolutely terrified of the simplicity of electric vehicles. They have none of the built-in obsolescence the car dealers can exploit to make their profits from customer tied labour and obscenely priced spares.

So a whole new means of financing and organising EV sales, globally, must be developed. Tesla is already selling direct to the customer. Which places them in an even stronger position over the leaden-footed, traditional [dirty] car manufacturing opposition. Most of whom are probably at least five years behind Tesla on almost every important aspect.

This is much the same scenario as we saw when Japan entered the car and motorcycle market in the early 1960s. The major British [highly conservative] manufacturers had no answer despite their decades of dominance. Where are the "great names" now? No major motorcycle manufacturers, at all. While the "British and European labelling" car industry is owned by Germany.

2.1.20 Coyote "AWOL" Morrison gets roasting.

~

Thursday 2nd Jan. 2020. 36F, dark grey overcast, cold, misty and breezy. The garden trees are rocking. Definitely a "hoody" day. (It rained here in the afternoon.)

I wore my yellow safety glasses to stop my eyes being blinded by tears on my walk. I wear the same glasses on my trike in cloudy weather. It makes me snigger every time I see a "serious" cyclist wearing ridiculously expensive, dark glass in overcast weather. The same lemming instinct as you see in every T-De-F during bad weather. Professionals? Yeah, right!

Don't even get me started on the wearing of newspapers for mountain descents. Or team, designer clothing flapping furiously because the exhausted riders had no time to do up the tiny [designer labelled] poppers, at the summit, before plunging back downhill.What part of back to front chest protection don't these losers understand?

New Zealand is enjoying yellow skies and the smell of 500 million, burnt Koalas from the Australian fires over 1200[?] miles away. The media seems unsure as to the actual distance as the smoke flies. Even the NZ snow is turning gold and brown now. Perhaps they will sue Australia for loss of tourism earnings? Australian tourism is already taking a massive hit.

Meanwhile Coyote "AWOL" Morrison is sending the sole Australian, navy [koala coal-fired] ship to evacuate people from the coast. It will need to make multiple trips apparently. Because most of the Koala coal supplies have already been burnt on a New Year's national, funeral pyre in Sydney.

Morrison has been getting a roasting from fire victims. He turned up at destroyed townships to refuel to find all the takeaways had been burnt down. Elsewhere evacuees couldn't fill their cars to join the gridlocks on the roads to safety because of a lack of fuel. With hour long waits to discover no petrol at the pumps you can well imagine tempers flaring in 48C heat. This is known in Ozzy parlance as "A Cluster Fuck[up]!" Or just, another "Morrison."

I have wondered for many years why the armed forces aren't routinely brought into action for real life, work experience in every national emergency. Perhaps their boots would miss the vital spit and polish if they were allowed to escape into the wild?

The British army is spending ex-taxpayer's money advertising that people with low self-esteem should sign up. Is there suddenly a national shortage of victims for closely targetted, forces bullying? The news headlines would suggest otherwise. If this is another case of damage control then somebody should pull the plug before the top brass embarrass themselves [again!]

1st January 2020 Happy New Decade?

~

Wednesday 1st January 2020, 41F. Rather overcast but with some blue between the grey clouds. Quite a chill wind on the way to the lanes in very light traffic. The McLardy's litter moron is still distributing its wealth in excess packaging along the verges.

More deaths and destruction in Australia's wildfires. Everybody is talking about climate change. Even those who were trashed in the recent elections. They remain in comfortable denial. Even with a few derogatory nicknames for those who are concerned. They continue to question the empty policies of those who won the last public lottery with the all too familiar, empty promises.

So, nothing has really changed with the arrival of a new decade. Greed still wins. Lies still win. Denial is still the currency of the real power mongers. The politicooze can only fiddle the books. To make it look as if they have some control over the corruption of the few who really rule our only planet.

India and China have such awful pollution that it seems impossible to make any useful changes. Traffic jams abound on every continent as the lemmings continue to commute to utterly pointless jobs. Drug wars cripple many nations and undermine the rule of law in most. The prisons are packed like pallets of sardine cans. Justice, power and privacy continue to be the privilege of great wealth. The rest are eating themselves into early graves. When they can afford to eat at all. Parasitic companies and celebs make vast fortunes at the expense of us all.

Supersaturation of our everyday lives with the blatant lies of advertising would have us ignore reality. Sport and entertainment make trillions for the money launderers and offshore, tax-free crooks and despots. The burden of defense craps all over the need for more hospitals for sickly populations all bent on slow suicide.

We are deliberately fed with titivating, red herrings about minor loss of life amongst the celebs. When all around us are losing theirs in millions to preventable disease and even starvation. As long as they are distant enough and dark skinned enough. To be invisible to all but the drunken holidaymakers. All bent on achieving a nice tone of skin cancer.

Anything to impress their equally vacuous colleagues back at home in our modern dystopia. Of overpowered private cars, with flashy wheels and silly badges stuck in the daily and deadly traffic jams. All to differentiate between the brain washed and the quite literally brain dead. They will gain one place on the grid-locked roads at the risk of their own and their family's lives.

The ephemeral is given the false label of "name" quality. Totally regardless of which Chinese factory rubber stamped their child-slave and political prisoner produced, puerile crap for stage-managed consumption. Even if the online dealer isn't a crook you may never see your parcel.  In an online review website 93% rate the Scandinavian postal service as appalling. We are still waiting for three parcels sent well before Christmas.
