14.12.19 Wet and windy weekend.

 *

Saturday 14th 36-40F, dark grey overcast, breezy with occasional rain. Walked to the lanes in light, weekend traffic. Still recovering from the extraction so I "rested" on the computer all day.

Sunday 15th 38F, already windy and raining hard with a dark grey overcast. A storm is crossing Denmark this afternoon with 24m/s or 55mph gusts. Went for a late walk in driving rain and the wind gusting to 30mph on my old, Wind Wizard anemometer. The jacket kept me dry and comfortable but I hate the fussy, chin closure arrangements. A letter to the UK makers would probably be a waste of effort. I disturbed a flock of redwings in a roadside hedge.

A McLardy's slob was practising advanced binge slobberiness. There were over 30 items of McLardy's packaging on the verge in the lane. Newly arrived since yesterday. Not sure whether it was the same slob who emptied their car ashtrays into a single pile of about 100 soggy fag-ends on the opposite side of the road. Add in the numerous cans of beer, "energy" drinks and wine bottles and somebody has a serious problem. Disposing of it in a rural lane is probably just hiding their problem from themselves.

The latest climate feast and fest has resulted in another abject failure of the rich countries to do anything useful on CO2.
