Monday 2nd Dec. 34-43F, slight white frost, cloudy with very light winds. The wind has turned to the west and was chilly on the way to the lanes. The traffic was unusually quiet as the low sun broke through the stripes of cloud.
The latest 6 star feast and fest at top class hotels, pretending to be a discussion on climate, starts today in Spain. Ironic that so many flights land there for holiday makers to get badly burnt.
As scientists talk of dangerous, global tipping points the world's politicooze will discuss weapons sales. Oh, and their latest triumphs at golf, the size of the engines in their amour-plated limousines and their latest tax-free, pension and salary hikes. The climate abusers and deniers are boosting NATO discussion as a red herring to hide the lack of progress on CO2 reduction by 2430.
Tuesday 3rd 35-45F, overnight frost but warming slowly. Another grey day in prospect. Walked to the village and back. A distant tractor was expanding the ploughed area up on the hill. The trike shed reorganisation is ongoing.
Wednesday 4th 43F, grey, dark and almost still. We could have some sunny periods this morning according to one forecaster. Or not, from the other. Eeny, meany, miney, no?
A half hour walk to the lanes. Interrupted, only briefly, by four Whooper swans heading north. While a solitary heron, heading south, had obviously not believed the rumours of a free breakfast. Assorted crows, rooks and jackdaws wandered randomly in all directions. As is there wont.
A niggling, south-westerly wind on the way there. Unnoticeable on my return journey. Small blobs of turquoise sky punctuated the cloud cover. Whether this portends of later sunshine I will leave further elaboration to learned, Roman vivisectionists.
