30 Sept 2019

30th September 2019 Will work for oil.

Monday 30th 52-56F, overcast, windy and wet. It was wet yesterday, overnight and this morning. There were warnings of heavy rain and we had some of it. Gusting to 18m/s or ~40mph today.

The Dictator of Saudi Arabia warns that war with Iran will destroy the global economy with sky high oil prices. Wouldn't that be a good thing if it concentrated the minds of petrol heads? It could finally mark the end of the human obsession with cheap oil. Though it could bring about a return to steam driven cars. It might also lead to an increase in cycling. Though it might also mean even more rusty chains.

A walk to the lanes in blustery conditions. It stayed dry apart from the free showers from speeding lorries and vans. Three, male pheasants were paddling in the soggy drive after last night's rain. The cloud is beginning to break up for the promised, sunny periods. Or not. It has just turned to solid, wall to wall cloud.
