Tuesday 21st 24F, calm, hard white frost. Potential for brightness but with some high cloud. The sun rose about 9am [CET] as I walked down the drive. The almost full moon hung brightly, higher in the west. Thin, high clouds provided decoration. With golden, vapour trail highlights from the Jinping Virus shuttles.
A flock of about 200 gulls drifted back and forth over the prairie. Alighting briefly, but nervously, on the frosty ground. They had moved on again by the time I returned. The wind turbines were unusually still. One can often be forgiven for thinking the towers contain huge batteries. To maintain motion even when there isn't a breath of detectable air movement.
It clouded over later as the temperature crawled up to 34F.
