29.10.2025 Not sheltering in place.

  Wednesday 29th 48F/9C. Quite a bright start but showers and then rain promised. Windy too.

 Up at 7am after a fairly quiet night. 

 First a walk. Then I have to fix the points on the Morris. So I can get to a haircut in the village. I can use my meter to check for continuity and isolation. 

 8.45 Back from a half hour walk. Dry but slightly breezy. No too cold. A solitary brown bird of prey retreated to behind a bank. No tiny guard dog today. So I was able to complete my loop. Traffic heavy but intermittent.

 8.55 Back to working on the car. A red kite came over calling. It seemed to ignore me as it circled overhead.

 11.25 I couldn't solve the problem with the distributor. The dark wire shorted out whatever I did with it. The orange wire from the condenser was fine. So I had to go on the bike. Fortunately it remained dry. So I reached the hairdresser on time. Then bought a couple of carrier bags of groceries at the supermarket afterwards. It is usually possible to slide a full carrier bag into each of the Ortlieb panniers. A cold and stiff headwind coming home. All the lampposts are decorated with council election placards.

  It rained on the Ryet saddle. While I was fiddling with the Morris and getting wet. The mesh looked as if it was full of water. Am I supposed to tip the e-bike into a wheelie to empty it?

 Dinner was a salad. The usual heap but not quite as life changing in its dimensions. Both eggs cracked as I lowered them into the pan. 14 minutes later they promised not to tell anybody.
