Sunday 3rd 59F/15C [7.30] Heavy overcast. A very wet day is in prospect. Yet again we find ourselves almost at the centre of a rotating weather system. Which means it remains almost stationary as it dumps its excess of moisture.
Up at 6.45. I woke previously but decided to doze while I could.
The Cern quantum glitch side effects were short lived. The remote control for the LED table lamp. Has safely reemerged from the chaos of Chez Hovel Sleep Lab. It had somehow transferred itself to the inside of the duvet cover. Only to be rediscovered overnight. Thanks to a reiteration of an earlier Prince and The Pee test. Carried out under the cover of darkness. New Physics may be involved but that's [well] above my pay grade.
I haven't a clue what to do today. I should tidy the garden but it seems overwhelming. As nature takes back what it had only been pretending to allow. Brambles, thistles and nettles now adorn the once <cough> immaculate lawn. The debris and detritus from the former observatory. Are still to find a suitable residence. In their forced retirement from active duties.
Scattering gravel to the four corners of the extended parking space. Has denied me a stealth hiding place for much of the wreckage. Boundary bushes and trees are currently stealing many square meters of potential landfill. However, clearing these would probably affect the climate. As it topples over yet another local tipping point. The logistics of disposal of the foliage laden canopy. Probably exceeds the expected life of the universe as we know it.
8.00 Grey and breezy but not currently raining. I wonder if I should go for a walk? It is a cure for most of my ills. The say absence makes the heart grow fonder. That may be the only reason why I keep coming back.8.15-45 The weather gods smiled upon me. It was grey, damp and breezy but not actually raining. The Sunday traffic was light as expected. I stopped to watch about 30 swallows swooping low over a paddock. It was difficult to see what they were actually doing. They would momentarily alight on the tips of the grass and instantly rise again. Were they washing their feet? Surely not catching insects? Spiders?
The rest of the day was filled with YouTube videos.
Dinner was a salmon pasty, peas, pasta and sieved, tinned tomatoes.
