6.01.2025 Shuffling the crap.

 ~o~

Monday 6th 41F/5C [9.00] Heavy overcast and raining. I was expecting more overnight snow but it is much depleted. Snow was forecast but it has already turned to rain. Storm force wind gusts are forecast for several days ahead.

Unexpectedly woke at 8am after clock watching at 5.00 and later.

9.30 I just had a phone call from the heart department at the hospital. They are pleased with my reported progress after wearing the monitor. My false heart beats are within acceptable levels. So it doesn't look like I need a pacemaker for the moment. Though it was not mentioned.

Now I have to take two of my new tablets for blood pressure. Possibly three eventually. These are supposed to increase my longevity. They want a new record of my blood pressure readings after a couple of weeks of the increased dose. I had already been asked to provide one. Exercise is good for me and encouraged. My new, heart physio course starts after lunch on Wednesday.

I have been using the IKEA app to draw the living room. Though I had to use IKEA's own furniture to place objects within the room. Not all of which are exactly to scale. The view is from overhead to the SW beyond the open stairwell. The chimney stands at the inner corner of the L-shaped room. IKEA doesn't allow for such objects to be inserted in its room designs. The windows are also far too small.

11.45 I have just spent a couple of hours searching for a non-existent battery charger. For my Bosch laser level. It uses four AA Alkaline batteries. I wanted to fix dimensions between upstairs and downstairs. So I knew which floorboards might need lifting for the electrical cables. Which would save me having to make rush tidying efforts for the electrician.

I did some tidying in the balcony room during my search. Where I discovered lots of unwanted audio stuff from the past. Which I should probably try to sell. It doesn't owe me anything but donating such things to a charity shop. Is not the right way to dispose of it. It will never reach an interested audience.

The other half of the balcony room has become a depository for cardboard packaging. Little of which is nested. So I takes up far too much room. Lots of wooden drawers from discarded furniture too. Does it owe me anything? For their trespassing on my limited storage space. They could be useful on shelving but are heavy and awkward to stack.

Plastic tubs are much lighter, far more flexible and useful. I can't easily dispose of it all. Until the local recycling yard opens on Wednesday. I would need to take a trailer full. The wheelie bins are ill-suited to such volumes.

12.00 The snow has magically vanished while I was busy. Leaving far too many puddles behind.

16.00 Back from the shops. Continuous rain and quite breezy. They had sold out of the white storage baskets I had hoped to buy. The electrician is coming at 7.30 tomorrow morning. I don't know where or what to clear first. It all depends on the route he takes with the new cables.

The kitchen is/was a mess because of the washing machine. Which is standing where it should be. I have cleared most of the mess and brought the oven cupboard into the kitchen. The washing machine is supposed to be standing on the 30cm high, white platform/table. While the IKEA cupboard should be on feet. So both will be taller than at present. There is a surface mounted socket behind the cupboard and a double socket on the nearside alcove wall. So these are pushing the cupboard well out from the corner.

19.00 I had better stop for some dinner and a rest.

I had to use up the chicken, mushrooms and eggs. So I made an omelette. A scrambled omelette. It tasted fine.

8.15 42F/5.6C. The wind is whistling through the front hall door. Via the greenhouse! I don't want to look out there! The gusts don't drop below 20m/s until midday tomorrow. Continuing gusting hard from the SW until late on Wednesday night. Mostly above 20m/s or 45mph. Many hours around 24m/s or 55mph. I have removed my hearing aids to reduce the racket. I hope I can sleep tonight.
