Sunday 5th 33F/1C. Very heavy overcast. A mostly dry morning becoming very wet and windy overnight tonight.
Up at 7.30 after waking at 6am and drifting. A few minor interruptions overnight. No doubt due to a beer and coffee with dinner. He never learns!
9.00 Only 61F/16C in the room. 41F/5C in the greenhouse. I had better light the stove!
10.15 Back from a deliberately brisk walk to the lanes. I pushed myself to become slightly breathless. Instead of just ambling long enjoying the countryside. The roads were clear of snow but damp. It was cold and became colder at the turn. Head-on into an eye watering, slightest breeze. There were flocks of sparrows and small groups of great tits in the trees and hedges. Gulls wandered, seemingly aimlessly across the leaden skies.
11.00 65F/18C in the room.
The day has been spent mostly watching YouTube videos. My tastes are varied but I tend to follow a rut for a day or two until I become bored. The survival and building work of communist ruled peasants in the Chinese mountains is a recent, recurring theme. Miraculous constructions to provide access and water in the most terrifying situations. Much of which has become tourist targets for those affluent enough to afford that new freedom.
I also like articulate comedians. Who target the scum which always rises to the top of the global, political sewer. Most of whom are so hideously corrupt and inadequate human beings. That one wonders how we have survived for this long.18.30 It has been snowing while I wasn't looking. At least an inch/25mm. I have to take two wheely bins along the drive. Dinner first.
Dinner was sardines on toast with tomatoes. I nearly forgot to take a snap. Captured in the nick of time.
Another inch or 25mm of snow for at least 50mm now. It was a serious drag pulling two bins at the same time. The wheels were gathering snow like rolling a big snowball. I got seriously out of breath! Then I had to go down on hands and knees. To wipe up the mud on the kitchen floor tiles from my digging wellies. Luckily I have recovered quickly.
Now I have to watch the new Wallace & Grommet on Netflix.
