20.04.2026 Inactivity! Director's Cut.

  Monday 20th 42F/5.6C [8.50] Bright overcast. Sunshine promised. Slow start in the SW. Becoming rather breezy from the NE. Room at 21C/70F. Greenhouse at 53F/12C.

 A fox poked its nose into the garden in the dark. The light on the camera put it off and it turned tail. 

 Up at 7.25 after earlier failures to light the damp squib. Back still hurting but not so bad. I have been browsing instead of going for a walk.

 Three hours later my back is fine until I try to move from my chair. Then it is agony. The sun has come out. The trees and hedges are moving in the wind. Petals from the plum and cherry trees are drifting.

 My HP printer has died. It won't feed paper at all now. After some earlier hesitancy and refusal. 

 In the afternoon I drove into the village for bread and pastry. Which meant hobbling the entire length [both ways] of the huge supermarket building.  

 Dinner was mashed potato, sausage rolls and fried mushrooms. I washed up while it cooked.
