Saturday 15th 34F/1C [8.30] White frost. A sunny day is promised. 62F/16.7C in the room. It struggled to reach 69F/20.6C by bedtime. This was with the stove burning well. 40F/4.4C in the greenhouse. The pond has dropped to 50F/10C.
Up at 7.50 after dozing off. I saw 6am, then 7am on the clock.
8.45 Time for a walk. There is some movement in the trees. So I'll need to wear something warmer than usual.
9.20 Back again. A solitary bird of prey left on first spotting me. Gulls were more reluctant to move but were soon gone. The traffic was very light at first but then it wasn't. I was toasty warm in a duvet jacket. While my hands were soon aching with cold in my GripGrab gloves. Blinding sunshine everywhere. Except at Chez Hovel. As the sun came around to the front of the house I took some videos of it with my solar telescope. Through the double glazed, dormer window. The results weren't exiting or even sharp but useful in software processing practice. Opening the window resulted in a bonfire of thermal agitation. As the warm, indoor area escaped through the gap. Exacerbated by the chimney effect.
Dinner was a weird omelette of sausage, mushrooms. Plus baked beans.
